well today was the decision day for the committee couldn't have been much worse but time now to think about my future. I have always put the customers and looking after them first but have now either got to accept putting customers last and spend every penny i have on compliance and admin or give the trade up

Is it your drivers badge or operating license? If it is your operators license you could change to Hackney or "move" your office into Rutland. If it is your drivers license just plate a car in Rutland and get a Rutland badge. Sorted.

I did look into this a couple of years ago. Rutland will not issue licenses unless you can prove 90 percent or more of your work will be in Rutland. I know you claim Rutland plated cars work in Melton but I don't know how they get away with it

I am Hackney and always have been the problem is it is my badge they are threatening to revoke unless I come up with a guaranteed plan that includes paying a full time compliance officer to ensure my cars are passed their test 4 week before due date I just can't afford that or i GIVE UP DRIVING and become an admin based only owner

If you have several vehicles nominate a person to ensure that vehicles are presented for test 4 weeks before due date, have you considered that this is an unreasonable demand made by the Council as you cannot present your vehicle for test before a certain date.As you have stated you have been very brief in outlining the problem but all depending on testing regime you may have been asked to present your vehicles more than 3 times within a 12 month period.

Both Manor Taxis and Erics have vehicles plated in Rutland. Erics does not have any Melton plated vehicles at all and he operates from Kirby Bellars. Manor have a non existant office in Burley but all bookings are taken at a house in Melton, without Council permission.
How long do Council points stay on your record? Most are a rolling 12 months so the first 6 shouldn't even be considered. Can they even put such a condition on a Hackney drivers badge?

Effectively I have been given a severe reprimand and it has made clear by the council that if I ever pick up more penalty points ever again it will be an automatic revocation of badge. It is the licensing team that are insisting I agree to early testing of vehicles

the problem with it is that I was once refused renewal of road tax because the test date is displayed on the compliance certificate and the vehicle had on that occasion been tested 3 weeks early. The following test was booked for the 2nd due by 10th of month

everywhere you go new compliance red tape is emerging I am currently being charged £23 a month by worldpay because I haven't managed to complete data compliance testing what next banks start charging us £100's of pounds a year for financial safety Compliance

it will reach a point soon where small businesses cannot exist because of the amount of paperwork involved in "compliance"

I have one but I still have to book vehicles in at the appropriate time they are always serviced on time just that I have had 3 unfortunate problems with vehicles undergoing major maintenance at the wrong time 2 were circumstances beyond my control but as far as the council is concerned that is still MY FAULT
