After getting over the hurt of not recieving an invite to join, I still can't make my mind up, maybe I'll do a bit digging first.

Nice to see you have a full board dedicated to the OFT investigation, obviously you are still confident that this government are keener to look after your best interest than they are to maintain service levels to the general public, but you'll dodge the real questions and look to insult individuals. ............. or will you.

If you didn't receive an invite Mick, then it wasn't deliberate, as I said to you months ago on taxiforum.com, if we were to start a forum then everyone would be invited, or I wouldn't bother - since Mick and Alan joined at the end of last week I assume that you knew about it.

I don't really understand your point about the the OFT investigation though Mick, nor your point about dodging the questions and insulting people.

I think the OFT will be the start of the most fundamental change in decades, so I thought it worthy of a seperate forum.

If they give the trade a 'clean bill of health' or anything like it then it will be deleted.

Dusty,
I think this posting should say "since Nigel and Alan Joined.......................

It's not the first time your 'pals' have acted behind you back Mick is it.

Seems strange to me that the members e-mails from your site have been surreptitiously purloined ( or shall we say escaped) from right under your nose and given to the canvasser of a ‘rival’ (?) site and your two closest were the first to join the new site!

Do I smell acts of treachery?

Scoundrels these wishy washy PH one minute HC the next types- no loyalty you see. That is what becomes of not belonging to a fraternity.

For what it is worth (coming from me) I think you are an honorable fellow Mick and didn’t deserve such underhand treachery. Don’t forget I still have not had an answer as to how an exclusive e-mail address known only to your site and me ‘escaped’. Have you asked the ‘pals’? I know one is protesting innocence how about Marcus J Brutus?

All this and we are not even in the month of March let alone the ides day so you had nothing to be aware of!!

Should have listened to a soothsayer I reckon.

I have no idea Maurice, why we would want to send details of our membership to another "rival" site is a mystery to me mate, not that I think either site is a rival to the other anyway as neither is a commercial venture.

Anyway I heard about this site from Alan Foster, not the administrators and as it has only 17 members at the moment I doubt many people have been directly contacted from any site. Maybe its a testimate to your knowledge that they felt they needed you on here, an honour bestowed upon you by your piers, I just hope they know what their letting themselves in for. The format of this site will more suit your approach, as well as certain others and for those who want something different there is allways our site.

Do you mean the London minicab/PH drivers who do the Knowledge of London Maurice??

Did you start off as a minicab driver then Maurice??

BTW, I doubt if any group could be more unfraternal than the London taxi drivers, except perhaps the taxi drivers in my manor. But at least this board doesn't try to sweep its disagreements under the carpet, unlike the closed London list.

Mick, as I said the fact that you weren't invited wasn't deliberate, by the same token the fact that Maurice was wasn't deliberate, but only a tiny proportion of the trade use message boards, so word gets around quickly.

Not that I object to Maurice posting, since everyone deserves and umpteenth chance (!), but we'll see how things progress.

No not these guys that have seen the light the path to rightiouness. They rightly wanted out of the botty end of life. They are not the yoyo's Mr Thumb was talking of.

No not me mate. Motor trade then Sale then garage repair owner then a lovely Green Badge.

Where's your manor then? Unique is it?

Early days, but as you say let us see.

Any disagreements on the London list is aired allright.

No Geoff, I was just curious as to which of the circuits Maurice was with, but I was sure it wasn't Dial-a-cab.

In fact I think it must be Radio Taxis, cos he's certainly not with ComCab.

Or maybe he's not with any!

You seem to be construing anything I praise OR criticise about London as being a criticism of Maurice, Geoff.

Not true.

As I said I admire Call Sign for airing internal company problems in public.

OK maybe the other circuits don't do that, but that is no more a criticism of Maurice than of every other cab company in the land.

Everyone is free to air their opinions, but bad language, abusive and belittling posts will just be deleted. That kind of stuff is anti-free speech.

If anyone gets out of hand all their posts will be deleted, at the very least (but all will be stored beforehand) and IP addresses recorded.

If I'd wanted you to know I would have told you ages ago, but at least you're inconsistent about what or who you think I am.

Must be that memory of yours Geoff!
