Lincoln ground to a halt today. No school run, so stayed at home.

One of the brave who did venture out spent five hours traveling one mile on the A46 bypass.

Another took three hours to travel the usual ten minute journey from the crematorium.

Will I go out tomorrow? Nah, don’t think so.

yup about 8 inches of snow last night

took me 4 hours to do 3 little town jobs every road choked with cars trying to creep up hills #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o and then getting stuck the entire town gridlocked then managed just 2 more later after rest of my drivers had given up along with bulk of traffic then did a Gatwick and it had to be the easiest Gatwick I have ever done there and back in under 5 hours

during the day turned over a hundred jobs down and took no end of flak some people who thought that no matter how treacherous the roads we should be risking life and limb trying to get them to the supermarket or doctors or dentists

have a driver who is willing to work tonight and he has had over 20 phone calls from people trying to book for the morning added to the 15 I turned down today everybody been told phone in the morning and we'll see what we can manage

I AM DREADING IT because I can almost bet I will be the only car that will come out

It's usually the newbies who think it's a license to print money.

Whereas you can't get about and more likely to get some numpties crash into you.

Snow is for mugs.

For a couple of days my area has had a yellow, then amber and now our first ever red warning for snow.

Yet there's hardly any where I am - if you look across a ploughed field, for example, it's mostly soil you see.

Roads aren't too good though, but generally passable with care, and who knows what tonight might bring. 8-[

Brutally cold though - at 4pm it was around -4C in the area and winds gusting to nearly 50 mph.

-6 here at 4pm yesterday but no further snow over night and strangely car not frozen up this morning so with a few of the main roads no longer iced up we should be able to work today just need to be careful of routes

have only had 1 call so far but perhaps a bit early yet no bookings in before 07.20 so at least it will be light before we get going yesterday was pretty much rammed from 06.20 on
