I think everyone needs to remember 'reasonable excuse'.

Not being physically able to hump up a wheelchair (including punter) into the cab is reasonable.

Study into risks associated with loading/unloading wheelchairs and their occupants into taxis by the roadside

The above study, from 2006 initiated by our good friends Jasbar and Skull, gives back up to those of us who want to protect our backs, in both senses of the word.

I have been trying since 2005 to get our Council to accept their responsibilities from this report to no avail,Council is responsible for many injuries to drivers in fulfilling Council policy or conditions of license.
