Taxi driver dies after assault at Manchester Airport car park

A man has died following an assault in a car park at Manchester Airport.

Police were called to reports of an attack near Terminal 2 at around 8.25am on Friday morning.

A 57-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he later died.

Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation.

A police cordon has been put up around a section of the car park.

Officers are appealing for witnesses - or anyone with information - to come forward.

A GMP statement read: “Shortly after 8.25am on Friday, April 6, police were called to reports of an assault on a car park at Terminal 2 of Manchester Airport.

“A 57-year-old man was taken to hospital where he sadly died. A police cordon is in place and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said: “We sent an ambulance to Manchester Airport at 8.30am.

“A man, aged in his 50s, had collapsed.”

very sad sounds as if it might have been a road rage incident which is all too common for cabbies who always get the blame for other drivers inadequacies
