Taxi driver arrested after accident on M6 in Staffordshire

A taxi driver was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after an accident on the M6 motorway in Staffordshire on Tuesday night.

Police were called to the accident near junction 11A in the south of the county after the collision involving the driver's car and a lorry late last night (Tuesday December 4).

He was arrested and provided a breath test result of 181 - more than five times the legal limit of 35.

A Central Motorway Police Group spokesman said: "Driver seems to have not noticed the HGV directly ahead . Arrested on suspicion of drink/drive.

"The taxi driver provided a roadside breath test with a reading of 181. To the cells, do not pass go."
