I use a little bag for the cash but make sure it's durable because if not all the change will soon wear a hold in it. And make sure it's fit for the job - I once bought this nice looking leather coin bag complete with reinforced bottom, but it was far too shallow and if you didn't handle it carefully the coins would end up everywhere.

As for notes, I keep some in my shirt pocket and trasfer the big ones into my jacket pocket (in winter at least), but there's not much chance of being mugged in my area, but if I worked in a big city I would stash some notes elsewhere, as some on here seem to do.

But I never make enough to worry that much anyway

got myself a small steel money box...took out the inner tray..keep my coins in there....sits down on floor by my door..out of sight but easy for me to get to for change.

my notes...are kept up in the underside of my sunvisor with elastic band around it.....

i only put the notes away AFTER my punter has gone out the car.
i usually carry £40 float in coins so rarely have to go into notes for change.
