Kind of thing that could happen to any driver and, irrespective of the rights and wrongs or whether he'll be subject to any action, what's the betting he'll be hauled over the coals in the meantime.

Two passengers seriously injured after getting out of their taxi in Northamptonshire

https://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news ... -1-8805127

Officers investigating a collision in Harpole where two people were seriously injured are appealing for witnesses.

The incident happened at 2.30am on Sunday, February 10, as a man and a woman were getting out of a taxi in Sandy Lane.

A vehicle travelling down Sandy Lane towards the roundabout with the A4500 was in collision with both people and failed to stop.

Police are asking witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.

Well I would hope not.

If the council did get a bit humpy I would suggest the driver asks the council if they would rather he kidnapped the punters by not letting them out.

looking at maps I would think that road is probably a major "rat run" for cars heading to the M1 (and A45) so cars probably speed down there

Question i would ask is did the pair exit the vehicle roadside ?
