 Post subject: Enhanced DBS checks

Location: A City near Birmingham
Licensing here have charged £54 for a DBS but applicants have to apply online themselves

but where/how?

the applicant can only find the £25 basic check

For an enhanced check you need your licensing authority to process it.

Your LA should give you all the details to apply for it online as I'm sure an enhanced one has to be applied for via the council as only certain employers/groups can ask for the enhanced dbs check.
The enhanced DBS check is £44, and that is what our LA charge, to be charged any more is a money making scheme, as an example Leeds charge £70 for this.

many Councils use 3rd party groups because they don't process enough to do it themselves. the 3rd party groups are adding an admin fee because they are not going to do it for nothing. I suppose it could be challenged if the fee is considered excessive.
