When you are issued with your drivers badge, could you legally drive anywhere in the UK??? work in any area as you will have had a police check and medical in some cases, and a discloser check in my mind you should be able to.

If there's a knowledge test then clearly that would have to be taken for the particular area that a badge is required in.

And as regards convictions and the like, some LAs will wave you through while others will not give you a license for the same convictions.

I'm not sure whether there's any 'portability' as regards disclosure checks, but in any other respect you would very probably just have to start from scratch in any other area you wanted to gain a badge in.

Perhaps a DSA test pass would apply in another are if you had that.
