Six out of six taxis tested by police and council officers had defects resulting in immediate prohibitions and licence suspensions.
Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit say they pressed the brake pedal on the first taxi they checked and the brake pipe burst.
The driver was given a prohibition and had their taxi licence suspended.
The second taxi had leaking fluids and a faulty side door that wouldn't stay open. The passenger floor area was damaged and had trip hazards. The driver had their taxi licence suspended.
