Hackney carriage owner driver?

So am I.

I advise you to think hard when times are hard, about setting up this system in your area in the new year. Cheap as chips and super efficient, fight back against the PH plague. It's working for me, and it could work for you visit their website for more information. And no, I do not work for them, and they do not pay me, but we do use it,and it is BRILLIANT! Call me on 07818 650360 for more info.

regards, jimbo.

Mr Jimbo, just so that I can way up the situation for when I get my free plate.

What happens when someone rings up for a price or a query? How does the system know that that isn't a job, which in tern would lead you to missing your turn? :-k

No, the reason that "taxi-call" is so cheap to use, is that there are no human operators. But there are ways for the sensible driver to maximise the system.

I think you mean "if" you get your free plate.

What happens, is you do get the odd time wasting call, but not that many to screw up the system. It's a "Buggins turn" situation.

This "Plague" you mention, it is the "Plague" of PH drivers working for a living rather than sit on a station rank for hours on end in someone elses cab chatting and forgetting to move up?

The plague (here) is PH drivers, who hang around the station forcourt, having dropped off a (legitimate) fare, in the hope of touting a return job. How do I know they are not waiting for a booking? because 95% give up and go away empty. This all happens whilst real TAXI'S are on the rank, where on a daily basis we are joined by PH's. Who "don't know" they cannot even stop on a Hackney carriage rank, even "just to drop off"

In that case i'd consider it a plague as well!

Jump in one and give him an address and see if they set off?

I used to have a similar problem on station ranks with the public parking on the rank while waiting to pick someone up. I got in the back on one once and blurted out "take me to the airport as quick as you can mate"!
He pooped himself and stammered "i'm not a Taxi". Well get off the ****ing rank then!!!
