I'm assuming this isn't trade-related, although I suppose it could be an ex-HCD who was disqualified and kept hold of the cab, or whatever.

But I'm sure it could have found a home with the local trade somewhere in the UK

AN old London Taxi is set to be crushed after being seized by police.

Police stopped the taxi on Worston Avenue in Johnson Road.

Officers carried out checks and said the drivers was found to be disqualified and had no insurance.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman added: "The car has been seized and disclaimed and will be sent to the crusher with the driver being summonsed to court."

I mean, if you're disqualified and uninsured, how not to draw attention to yourself? :-s

Indeed, surprised the driver didn't also have a clown suit on and a flashing red nose. 8-[

20 years ago it took the police about 2 years to get an unlicensed black cab off the road.they even said 'well it's a black cab isn't it?'.
