Spalding area's Royal Taxis see a 50% increase in bookings as lockdown measures begin to easeRoyal Taxis, which covers Spalding and the surrounding areas, has seen bookings rise by 50%, compared to last week.
This follows Prime Minister Boris Johnson's speech on Sunday, in which he stated that those who could not work from home, should now begin to return - for instance, those in construction or manufacturing.
And Royal Taxis' boss Mroof Choudry said that his staff have seen 'quite a big increase in business, compared to last week.'
He said: "It's been quite busy. It's been up by 50%."The business has strict measures in place to protect both staff and passengers from the risks of COVID-19.
"We took all of the cars off the road and put in e7 cabs, like the London cabs which have a shield," Mr Choudry explained.
"We have gloves, masks and sanitisers being used."
The fleet has also been a vital service throughout the crisis, transporting the children of key workers to schools in the area, whilst keeping health and safety measures tight.
"We have not stopped taking the children to schools," he said.
Royal Taxis has also been helping to collect and deliver prescriptions to residents in the area during the lockdown, offering the service for free to those aged 70 and above.
