The former Lincoln City player and manager Steve Thompson, has been suspended from his job as match summariser for BBC radio Lincolnshire.
His crime, which caused grave offence to some listeners last Saturday, was to describe an“altercation” between two opposing players as “handbags” ( as in suggesting handbags at dawn) if you haven’t already noticed, this country is going mad.
The FA cup game last night had to have a minutes silence at the sad passing of a fat cheating junkie dago who used to be admired by some for his footballing talents. THEN they “took the knee” in that ridiculous gesture to prove that they are not at all racist  although to be fair, that was as entertaining as the game that followed got.

Still at least I will be able to enjoy my freedom after Lincolnshire comes out of lockdown in a couple os days, eh?

Years back one of the co commentators for the Albion called a fan a window licker and all the PC folks went mad.

Hate to think what would have happened if he called him a foreign window licker.

I vaguely remember Alan Hanson using "handbags" term once it's a fairly innocuous term. I can understand the need for an apology and promise not to use the term again BUT to go to those lengths?

I remember Geoff Stelling using it not so long ago.
