Royal Cars taxi Oxford help out

Royal Cars taxi's are offering a discount on its services over the Christmas period.

The company has taken the decision not to charge the usual £2 extra per booking in order help 'loyal customers get around during this difficult time'.

This extra cost had previously been in place on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the new year celebrations.

It will also be offering a further £1 discount on every booking on Christmas day to further help people visiting their loved ones.

The company will compensate all the drivers of this £1 so no financial burden is placed on their drivers.

A spokesperson for the company added: "We have doing some bits throughout the pandemic to help within the community, for example we ran a fundraiser to pay for taxis for front line NHS staff to get around for work.

"We helped the elderly and vulnerable collect their shopping, our drivers picked up their groceries at click and collect and delivered to the customers free of charge.

"We also offered free taxis to the elderly and vulnerable to go vist loved ones or attend hospital appointments."

So drivers charge £3 less.

And get a £1 back.

Merry Xmas to those drivers. [-(

The other Oxford mob offering a two-mile run on Christmas Day for a fiver have obviously started a price war.

No sign of this lot copying the Santa gimmick, though. That would be too obvious :-o

With the way things are, I'd rather have a busy day doing T1 than scrapping around for T3 work.

But would you still be having a busy day on T1? I can't understand why some firms think so little of their drivers that they want and allow them to work for below the minimum wage and I also can't understand drivers who value themselves so low that they will work for less than they are entitled to.

“I wasn’t going to book a taxi to go out today, but as your company has reduced fares by three English pounds, I thought I would book one. So just drive around randomly and drop me back at home.”

Top phrases never heard from customers #1.
