Reminds me of that article a few weeks ago, which read like police considered having plastic bags in a car was cause for suspicion.

So I'll have to be doubly careful with the three Home Bargains bags I keep in the car 8-[

He drove around with £100,000 of cocaine stashed in a Home Bargains bag

A taxi driver ferried cocaine across Merseyside as he worked as a drug dealer for an Organised Crime Group (OCG).

Thomas Willis was a private hire driver using a Volkswagen Passat to pick up fares while also dealing cocaine.

The 29-year-old drove a kilo of cocaine from the car park of a Wirral dentist, where he met one of the OCG leaders, Liam Bradley, back to his home in Eastham.

During a raid at the Stanley Lane address the same day, officers discovered the 76% pure cocaine, worth up to £100,000, stashed in a Home Bargains bag.

Willis was jailed along with four other dealers who took part in the cocaine plot earlier this week.

Gerald Baxter, prosecuting at Liverpool Crown Court, said: "Willis was a registered taxi driver (as was Andrews) and their employment thus provided a legitimate cover in relation to their involvement in the supply of Class A drugs."

On January 23 last year, officers watched as Gary Clare, also a private hire driver, parked his red Mazda on Mallory Road in Prenton.

Mr Baxter explained Bradley, 29, pulled up in a Vauxhall Corsa behind Clare, 59, who got out and passed "an object through the driver’s window".

Two minutes later at 4.10pm police watched as Bradley drove to Prenton Road East and walked to the dentist car park, getting into the Willis' taxi.

Bradley, who would organise the preparation, storage and transportation of drugs, spent four minutes in the taxi before getting out.

Willis then drove to his home where officers discovered the block of 76% pure cocaine in the Home Bargains bag and arrested him.

Officers also found scales, £3480 and and 340 grams of creatine, which is often mixed with cocaine as a cutting agent.

Mr Baxter said the total amount of cocaine found at Willis' home was worth between £41,237.60 to £103,094.

Willis, now of no fixed address, was jailed for six years and six months for conspiracy to supply cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

He has no previous conviction, a court heard.

On June 25 police raided homes belonging to other members of the gang, and at Bradley's address on Temple Road in Prenton they seized £5,000 in cash and jewellery including Rolex watches.

Bradley, who has no previous convictions, was jailed for 10 years for conspiracy to supply cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Clare, of Ethel Road, Wallasey, was sentenced to eight years four months for possession of cannabis and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Clare's partner, Stacey Smyth, 38, of Parkside Road, Poulton, was sentenced for being concerned in the supply of cannabis. She has no previous convictions.

Jones, who has 15 previous convictions not for drug offences, was handed a 12-month community order and must complete 10 Rehabilitation Activity Days.

Gary Andrews, 47, of Priory Wharf, Birkenhead, was jailed for three years for possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of amphetamine and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

He has no previous convictions.

Slight error in the narrative, there - Andrews isn't properly introduced until near the end of the article.

Hardly worth pointing out, obviously, but I usually find articles like this quite difficult to follow accurately at the best of times...

These idiots think they are clever and the police will never get them.

But they do, and this fella has got 6 years for his greed and stupidity.
