Greenock taxi driver charged over alleged head-kick attack

A GREENOCK taxi driver has been charged with carrying out an alleged head-kicking attack on a passenger on Christmas Eve.

Mark Miller, 41, is accused of pulling a man from his car and assaulting him to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

Prosecutors say the alleged assault occurred at Regent Street on December 24 last year.

Miller, of Burns Road, had a plea of not guilty tendered on his behalf in his excused absence from a pre-trial calling of the case at the sheriff court.

His defence lawyer told the court that Miller was working as a taxi driver at the time of the alleged incident.

The case is due to be heard on September 1.
