Then why are you getting so stressed about it?

because now I'm going to have to do 18 hours instead of 15 and then start again on 5 hours sleep

No one is making you work.

they are called bookings which are a contract to provide service so yes I do have to turn up

You are not compelled to accept bookings. Just say no. You’ll find it quite liberating. No one ever said on their deathbed, I wish I’d spent more time at the office. Or maybe you’re loving it?

The point I'm trying to make is that if you don't answer the phone because you are knackered, or resting, is that the punters won't be stranded, they have other options.

For one or two days a year let them use the other options or prebook in good time.

No good working like c*** every day of the year.

I wonder when “pre” became a thing.

For instance, my hairdresser asked me this morning if I had any holidays planned. I told her that I had booked a holiday in Mauritius for May next year. How lovely, says she, but don’t you surely mean pre booked? No I don’t I said, I haven’t previously booked it, I booked it today, at the travel agent’s next door.

The fact that this is the two-thousandth post on the 'Gripe of the Day' thread.

Who would have believed that of a taxi/PH topic?

Another thick customer.

She was complaining about the big wheel/observation wheel that was put up in the city center over Xmas.

Apparently it was ten pounds a time and all you got for that was two and a half turns.

I ask her again how many times it went around and she repeated two and a half.

I then asked her if she got out at the top then. ](*,)

All of a sudden everything is a ‘hack’.

What happened to tips and hints?

I seem to see plenty of hints and tips online maybe that's what they have become but I suppose the word Hack makes it sound a bit more exciting and borderline legal for people who drive a Jag

Operators not knowing the rules.

Operators asking drivers to act against the rules.
