Bit of a generalisation there.

From my experience there are as many iffy PH drivers, as there are cab drivers.

im working on several contracts so hopefully we should get some kind of foot in.

Town Center's dont have to be off limits, Hac's aren't allowed to pick up within 30mtrs of a PH office as far as i know, and as long as the office is covered (priority) you'll get the regular fares. Remember the hac's mostly drive back to town empty and your picking bookings up so your earning most of the time.
And if they're (hac's) anything like here in Warrington, most of them the punters wouldnt touch, because of their attitude and over charging (not all of them, but the majority).
How many Hac's do you see driving right past punters who have started to walk?, they prefer to pick up at the rank, because they dont want the short £6-£7 jobs. The punters remember this and when it's raining they'll walk to an office rather than give the Hac's their custom.
An example is our local Train Station, we have an Office opposite and there's rank outside the station, we get a constant flow throughout the day into the office and they walk right past the Hac's.

bailys aim in warrington for abba cars is simple domination he bought out crown cars a few years ago then he erected an office opposite the only other biig private hire company in town harry's to try and take his work so his drivers would come over too abba which didn't work not content with owning an office in town for crown cars which abba cars cars do the work from how does that work if there two seperate companys he wants to put an abba office oposite that one so his total office count would be 1 abba in rylands st 1 abba in buttermarket st, 1 abba on acdamey way(still to be built this is the one going opposite crown cars office, 1 abba on winwick st opposite central station and 1 crown office on academy way thats a total of 4 current and 1 going to be built and that new abba office on academy way is another attempt to take more work from the hackneys so we see our earnings going down and then have to take the plunge because of this and sign up for one of his radio's which makes him more money and reduces yours the ph drivers cause lets face it if he has his way 80% of hac drivers would go to abba system rather than harrys and thats going to mean alot more cars for you guys to contend with for work in the week !!!!!!!!!!!!

I was refering to "touting" outside a PH Office.



No Law's have been broken,a PH is allowed to pick up outside his Base.



I've never been on it, and as far as i can tell neither has anybody else.

ABBA/CROWN cars both use all the offices available, if you happen to be one side of town then you service the nearest office which is logical, why drive past fares at one office to get some from another.
But belive me both crown and Abba are seperate companies, for instance Abba finish T2 at 5am where Crown finish at 7am.
I used to work on Crown before it was taken over and it was a great company, the only trouble was the owner wasn't interested in growing and looking after the drivers, you went to him with a complaint and it was "if you dont like it **** off", which i and many others did in the end. So many in fact that he started ringing ex drivers up to offer stupid radio deals to entice us back, but by then it was to late.

Where as at Abba if you have a genuine problem it's listened to.
As a Hac what would you rather do? Play cricket on Bank Quay Station all summer or earn some money?
I dont know what his (abba) radio deals are for Hac's, but even if it's £60 (8 jobs a week) isn't it worth it to be able to earn cash all day and get jobs bringing you back towards town at night? You know as well as i do (i used to drive a Hac) there's nothing worse that dropping in Birchwood or Culcheth and driving back empty to town for the next fare. Imagine picking up at the new Acadamy way Office, being on cctv (safer) having a Marshal (safer) and having a record of the fare in your car! (safer) driving to wherever and getting a fare within a mile or so off your last job! (more money)All for £60 a week!
So what time will you be in for your radio tomorrow?

As for to many cars on the system, warrington has say 4000 jobs a day as an example. any company can only cover a certain ammount of work. If 30 Hac's went to abba and 10 to Harrys thats 40 less cars to cover the ranks, so the customers who those 40 cars were going to take have to get a car from somewhere else so they go to the nearest office. The work is still there, be it on a rank or in an office, it doesnt mean those punters will suddenly stop going to town!
You must have noticed that more and more people are fed up with standing at a rank, feeling vunerable in the street avoiding the idiots fighting in the rain, so they head for a "safe haven" Like ABBA's new PH office.

Dont take me the wrong way, i know lots of Hac drivers and i'd jump in if any of them was in trouble, but it's the "us" and "them" attitude thats ruining the whole trade.

I know this wasn't addressed to me, but for the record I'm on planet Earth, in the country of good old England. And in that England 70% of all councils have delimited so far, with many more to follow. Either by hook or by crook.

So suggesting someone pay up to £50,000 for something that will be worthless in a short time, is a tad naughty.

do you not think your like its pot calling the kettle black what about 10 to 12 cars (hacks) making an illegal rank outside chicago rock thur/fri and sat. (ps there is no rank at all there) i went and looked for the little sign (still none there) . thur/fri and sat at a rank at red lion at s/heath fits 2 cars or cabs but for some reason you think you can put 15 on the otherside on a bus stop and a crossing ( both these ranks are illegal ) not to mention triple parking on b /Quay station and central (on bus stop again). and dont let me start when customers ask me why the white ones leave there meters off at the red lion in stockton heath coming in to town and charge £5.00 i say this because its only £3.00 on meter so all in all some people need to sort out there own act first and can certain members of the hackney trade get a life -p/h or hac are all out there doing the same thing (fares) putting up with the same lifestyle (earache of wife and kids included) for the same money, same abuse same threats just to earn a living.
