I've recently obtained a couple of fuel cards. The price before VAT in Christmas week was £1.13 per litre +vat another. 23p), this week is £1.22 per litre (vat 24p). The fuel card company charges 1p per litre admin. But if I buy in a superarket on the card, they charge the supermarket price plus the 1p per litre admin charge.

It's nice to go in motorway services wher eit's £1.68 a litre and know I'm paying £1.48 a litre. :)

You need to watch them at the fuelcard company. They suddenly, and without warning increase our price by 25% last time we were with them.

Interesting article from TaxiPoint website about the difference in fuel price from EV to diesel in respect of the London black cab trade.

https://www.taxi-point.co.uk/post/taxi- ... -increases

The table they show indicates if you charge up at home and then use the petrol engine once the EV charge has been used up, you only save £2,000 a year.

Need a lot of years to get your £60,000 plus back.

Looks like you're spending all your recent spare time watching the doom and gloom news.

The Price of oil was way up at around the 200 dollar a barrel mark around 20 years ago compared to 110 dollar per barrel today yet the cost of fuel back then was about the same as it is today.....this is more about the UK Fuel companies using the war in Ukraine as an excuse to boost their profits and make up for their losses during Covid....It also suits the Governments green agenda to make Oil burners obsolete, the whole things rotten.

The US president at least ensured the US fuel companies couldnt rip off their customers at the pump by keeping fuel prices at present levels of cost.
