Headline suggests he's totally unlicensed, while the opening paragraph implies he may have a badge. It describes him as a 'taxi driver' and says he was without *a* licence, suggesting he only needed another one.

But, as usual, may simply be misreported, particularly as he's facing *five* charges.

Man accused of acting as taxi driver in Windermere

A TAXI driver accused of operating without a licence has appeared in court.

Steven James Sutton is alleged to have acted as a taxi driver without a licence to do so.

The 41-year-old is alleged to have committed the offences around Bowness and Windermere on July 7 and October 18.

The defendant, of School Knott Close in Windermere, denied five charges when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.

He is due to stand trial on June 7.

My betting is he hasn't got any license other than maybe a DVLA one.

These rural areas are full of folks acting without a license, maybe one down hundreds to go.

Well it seems you were right [-(

But funny I started two different threads within a few weeks with exactly the same thread title and didn't realise they were the same case :-s

But it must have been lurking in my head somewhere, hence composing precisely the same thread title 8-[

Anyway, also seemed to recall a thread about this chap trying to get licensed in the first place, but can't find anything. But it's maybe this Lakeland 'classic car' case I was thinking about:
