Merseyside residents can enjoy convenient travel around the region thanks to a taxi app that aims to make life easier for both customers and drivers.

The app from One Call Taxis allows customers to view available taxis before booking, get a fare estimate for their trip and track the vehicle on its way to them. It also offers access to a rewards programme for customers, enabling them to earn 1p for every £1 they spend on the app, which can then be used to pay for a future journey.

The scheme is designed to reward repeat customers and can be used on trips taken at any time of day, as long as they are booked via the app.

Encompassing five taxi firms under one brand, One Call Taxis is also looking for new drivers to join the firm. Full funding is available for drivers who want to get their taxi licence with the company's training school.

Those who are interested in training with the firm can complete an expression of interest form on the One Call Taxis website to find out more information.

One Call Taxis recruits drivers who are licensed with Knowsley, Sefton, Liverpool, St Helens, West Lancashire and Wolverhampton badges. Thanks to the new app, which is available via the App Store and Google Play, drivers can pay one commission fee to work across all of the areas the company covers, meaning they can accept more work.
