This is a Veezu press release from about a month ago :?

It's all 'smarter local rides' and that kind of stuff :-s

Veezu puts itself on the map with rebrand of V Cars Taxis

https://www.veezu.co.uk/2022/09/26/veez ... s-rebrand/

The southwest’s most popular private hire taxi service V Cars is changing its name to Veezu.

Veezu – the UK’s fastest growing private hire technology platform – operates across 24 local authority licences in the UK and connects more than 8,000 driver-partners with passengers who completed, on average, one ride every two and half seconds in 2021.

V Cars was acquired by Veezu in July 2017. The origins of V Cars date back some 40 years through acquisitions of local private hire taxi brands such as Abbey Taxis in Bath and Chippenham, Clifton Taxi Co and Streamline Taxis in Bristol.

Veezu CEO Nathan Bowles commented, “We are firmly putting the Veezu name on the map in the southwest. The change will help simplify our business, plus create consistency as the brand of choice for driver-partners, passengers and business accounts.

“The re-brand expands beyond a name change. It is an opportunity for us to build on hyperlocal activities to ensure we remain at the centre of our communities across Bath, Bristol, Swindon and Chippenham.”

From Monday 26 September Veezu will begin rolling out an extensive marketing campaign entitled ‘smarter local rides’ as it debuts its consumer-facing name in the PHV market. It will be complemented with the introduction of local community initiatives to the residents across the southwest.

Smarter local rides start with Veezu.

Wouldn't have found that without specifically looking, but it's just been rehashed on the Swindon Advertiser's website. No real point reading this if you've read the stuff above :-?

Swindon taxi firm V Cars will now by known by new name Veezu

https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/new ... ame-veezu/

A PRIVATE hire taxi service based in Swindon will soon be known by another name.

V Cars has been around for the last 40 years and has grown by acquiring other brands like Abbey Taxis in Bath and Chippenham as well as Clifton Taxi Co and Streamline Taxis in Bristol.

In 2017, a private hire technology platform called Veezu snapped up V Cars to add to its network of 24 local authority licences in the UK which connects more than 8,000 drivers.

Five years on from that acquisition, the Swindon taxi company is now adopting the name of its new owners.

Veezu CEO Nathan Bowles said: "We are firmly putting the Veezu name on the map in the southwest.

"The change will help simplify our business, plus create consistency as the brand of choice for driver-partners, passengers, and business accounts.

“The re-brand expands beyond a name change. It is an opportunity for us to build on hyperlocal activities to ensure we remain at the centre of our communities across Bath, Bristol, Swindon and Chippenham."

Veezu has begun rolling out a marketing campaign called ‘smarter local rides’ as it debuts the name change, which will happen alongside the introduction of local community initiatives to residents across the southwest.

But perhaps more interesting is how it all came about - the usual PR, comms and 'brand awareness' sort of blather, as described in the next post.

But I wonder if they'll be rebranding the other Veezu operations like Amber Cars in Leeds and Go Carz in Shropshire?

So they'd become more of a national brand like Uber and Bolt :-o

And interesting that Veezu describes itself as a 'private hire technology platform', which sounds a bit more like an app-only provider, while of course Veezu is rooted more in the traditional PH sector like Amber and Dragon.

So it's maybe a bit like Veezu consistently using the driver-partner terminology, which I think originated from Uber.

But which in turn demonstrates the similarities between the traditional sector and the app-only providers, with the likes of Veezu bridging the gap.

And it also says a lot about the employment status issue

Anyway, this is the comms/PR-spiel from the comms/PR-spiel provider

Initials CX rebrands leading British private taxi hire firm

Veezu, which leads the way in private hire technology in the UK, sought the help of London-based Initials CX to drive greater awareness and loyalty. The agency crafted a whole new brand identity, including a new brand platform, a brand guide and a comms plan.

The company operates in four key communities throughout south-west England including Bristol and Bath, meaning Initials CX had to create a brand which spoke to its hyper-local communities.

The agency provided a clear purpose for Veezu by establishing a differentiated and meaningful market positioning, which was designed with the specific intent of increasing its bookings and app downloads.

The brand messaging was also updated to better demonstrate the functional ability of Veezu as well as the emotional benefit that using a local provider that invests in the community can create.

Barry Jenkins, head of marketing at Veezu, says, “Initials CX has paved the way to firmly put Veezu on the map. The team has consistently delivered, from setting out the brand strategy to planning the name-change transition and creating a distinctive visual style. We’re only just getting started, yet the entire rebranding journey so far has been incredible.”

Location: Stamford Britains prettiest town till SKDC ruined it
and the welsh operations aw well

BUT I think this is a retrograde step as many of these re-brandings are often a disaster and sticking with V cars has a better ring to it

People usually take to branding if it is simple and has a meaning often choosing a gobbledygook name simply because the internet domains are available fails and businesses either revert to an earlier name or fade from existence
