Wonder what the 'numerous licensing breaches' were?

No sign of a plate, so maybe that's one for starters :-o

Suspended taxi driver 'had white powder in coat pocket', say police

Officers from Merseyside Police's Roads Policing Unit who stopped a private hire vehicle and found it in breach of numerous taxi licensing rules also discovered a "white powder" in the pocket of the driver. An ensuing test for drugs proved positive, they say.

The police went on Twitter just after 2am on Sunday (December 18) to state that "numerous taxi licensing breaches led to a suspension notice for this private hire from Wigan." They stopped the driver on Edge Lane in the Fairfield and Stanley area of the city as he was travelling to collect a pre-booked fare from the city.

But in the tweet they added: "The bigger issue was the white powder in his coat pocket and positive drugs wipe."

In England and Wales, drivers caught and convicted of drug-driving can receive a minimum 12-month driving ban; a criminal record; an unlimited fine and up to 6 months in prison.

Nothing it's just there seems to be a disproportionate amount of wrong doing by the trade up there or the local press have a knack of picking up on every story when elsewhere they don't. I think someone needs to look at it and decide to do something about it

I do actually have family who live in Liverpool.
