Avenue, I can't see my number plate in the photo, am I allowed to ask for a clearer photo or is this normal?

If you can't, then one would assume that the appeals man wont either.

So I would appeal, you have got nothing to lose.

Well presumably they have sufficient other evidence to enable them to identify you, so unless you can't recall this and think it's an error then I wouldn't bother.

From what I've seen of these traffic control cameras on the telly they can zoom in to read the number plate, but perhaps they just send you a bigger photo so you can see the vehicle in context rather than close up.

Thats the yellow box outside the Fire Station?

You should check the Masset column in Taxi, its updated for PCN hotspots every fortnight.

Rumours have it the recently confusuing Rathbone Place turn is up for cctv enforcment, even though the traffic order permitting the left turn remains in force. :?

Look forward to the first appeals.

Yeah, I read that, but you'd be there all night waiting for that to clear, plus the photo they sent me only shows me at the start of the box, so unless the slippery sods have got another one, I should be allowed a complaint, shouldn't I?

They tried to do me for that U turn at Boswell st. But All the pictures showed were my cab at the white line at the traffic lights. and one of a cab that could be any ones in boswell st.
I asked for more evidence showing me doing the illegal crossing.
After about 3 months the wrote saying that they are dropping the charge.
SO, reply asking for more evidence of where the registration of the vehicle can be seen.
Also did they give you a ref No: of where you can go on-line to view other pictures?

Cheers mate, I'm not even in the box, a silver coloured one is in it. Do I lose my 14 day discount if I ask for more evidence? They didn't give me a reference number to go on line but I phoned the LTDA and they said you can see it at the City Hall in Victoria Street. Thanks for your help, I'll do what you done.

Always appeal thats what an ex traffic cop said on tonight with Trevor McDonald, and 9 time out of 10 they will back down, the same applies to parking tickets, always make sure the lines are intact if they are not take photos as evidence if you can and the same applies to box junctions all lines must be intact and properly marked and spaced if they are not you have them by the short and curlies, also all signage must comply and be properly worded

I agree, always appeal, especially if the photo is a bit iffy.

The only evidence that they have against you is/are the photos, so if they are not clear cut, then that means the evidence isn't.

But if nothing else it delays the time you have to pay by many months.

I disagree, unless you think it's a genuine error then just take it on the chin.

After all, you guys are sounding just like the taxi customer in the other thread who refused to pay the whole fair because the driver took him slightly out if his way.

As far as i'm aware, they have to have two photo's of your vehicle showing it's reg no stopped in the junction, not approaching or leaving, and they have to be time stamped to prove you were actually stopped. Of course you can legally stop in a box junction if another vehicle does an emergency stop in front of you and you stop to avoid a collision.

A great site for asking questions like this and getting the corrct reply is...
