This is a really good thread and made very intresting reading.

One of you hit the nail right on the head when you said the licensing officer when asked to dereg said we have enough taxi's and then went onto quote the three largest PH op's in the area.

So Iam going to start a new thread about this as this one is far too long to trawl through :wink:

My personal favourite is swaping your rear rectangle number plate for a square one & re-attaching it using one bolt, then fixing your council issued plate to the gap with the other bolt

Means that both are lit up & clearly visable

It is done this way extensively in North Lanarkshire & saves wrecking your rear bumper with screw holes
