You may get more for if you include a free empty TESCO's bag or an air guitar better still you put the air guitar in the TESCO'S bag.

Don't think youv'e got much chance of getting any of the Licensed London operators on this forum buying it

Take care Eric 8)

I'm intrigued why as a Licensed Minicab driver / operator you use the name London Taxi.

Firstly I am NOT a minicab driver, where you get that from I do not know.

Would it suprise you if you met a green badge cabby who owned a PH operation ? if so I can introduce you to several

You may have missed my earlier post

I stated that a Licenced PH Operator in London is legally able to take PRIVATE HIRE bookings for London Taxis, this is FACT

I frequently take PRIVATE HIRE bookings for white London Taxis for weddings ( and yes, as someone correctly pointed out, vehicles used exclusively for weddings and funerals are outside the remit of PH licensing )
I also take PRIVATE HIRE bookings, very occaisionaly, for Wheelchair accessible vehicles and always use the TXII "TAXI" off meter for these

If that somehow upsets you then I suggest you write to your MP about it, but let me assure you that it is 100% KOSHER !

greenbadgecabby wrote:

Having looked at the site I can see no facility to either book a genuine Taxi for work or weddings as you claim above. In fact all I can see is adverts for Minicabs playing on the word 'cab', and worst still offers to take you to the Airport in presumably unlicensed Limo's ?

That's because there is NOT A SITE at londontaxi.co.uk at present my friend

What you see is called a "Parking Page" provided by a company called SEDO that specialises in selling prestige domain names, this parking page has pay per click advertising upon it that I have no control over whatsoever, the highest bidding ad gets the top of the listing

Hope this helps

Surely it's got to be worth a few bob to the lads at LTI, :-k

I'm pretty sure that LTI are not interested as they used to own several domain names like LondonTaxi.com and LondonTaxis.co.uk that they have either let expire or have left them blank & undeveloped without even forwarding them their main site at lti.co.uk

My guess is that they are relaxed in the knowledge that for the moment there's only one manufacturer of vehicles that can be used as a TAXI in London

Complacency, it killed the British car & motorbike manufacturing industry !

I think it would be best off in the hands of a major operator but it can be used by folks who sell spares or service taxis or wash them or export vintage ones or .... a million other things.

As I mentioned, the biggest offer I had for it so far was from a firm that wanted to build a site that gave you a virtual tour around London online using a "Virtual Taxi"

The words London and Taxi can be used in any description, they do not belong to LTI. You can use them individually or combined as long as the person owning the domain name doesn't pass themselves off as the company in question. The name itself is practically worthless, you might get a tenner for it if your lucky. If you were offered eight grand like you said you were then you were very foolish indeed not to accept it.

You can still get londontaxi.me.uk and londontaxi.eu. So why would anyone want to pay big money for a uk domain?

Regards

JD

If you know a few, smashing. bring them along to next years LTDA ball, I'll be the one on the mic.

Don't any of the directors of Radio Cabs drive cabs, as well as being minicab operators? :-$

Are you Jamie then ?

You seem to struggle with difference between an operator and a driver

Look upon it as an employer / employee relationship

:o)

Thats easy Mr londontaxi.co.uk.

Ones loaded because he keeps taking on more drivers who pay him copious amounts of rent each week.

The other works his fingers to the bone for peanuts each week, then goes out at the weekend shouting 'taxee' to potential customers.

Easy, innit?

Not so, Mr londonHYPHENtaxi.co.uk

Shouting TAXEEEEE to potential customers can get you in a lot of trouble, please be careful !

An operator runs a fleet and pays all the bills

A driver turns up for work, drives, gets paid, and sometimes whinges about not not being an operator himself

Not in London it does'nt.

The Police are so overwhelmed at the vast numbers involved, they can only touch the tip of the problem.

One of your colleagues, Martin COX of Premier Despatch reckons, like I do, their drivers are underpaid, so they're raising their prices to pay the fodder more.

Now if all you 'ops' did that, touting would subside overnight.

Simple, innit?

Any takers on your 'domain' yet?
