Not much to see here, but was thinking the other week when those two footballers kicked the back window of the taxi out, that that's not something that happens often :-o

Women, eh?

Oh, but here's another one. On the other hand, I'd guess the damage happened when they were out of the vehicle, and it looks like it was merely damaged, and not kicked out. But there were women involved, it seems...

Anyway, spot the terminology clanger from Leics Police - I don't think a rear window is normally called a 'rear windscreen', but fortunately the press have corrected it in their own copy :-o

CCTV clue after taxi driver assaulted in town centre incident

A taxi driver was assaulted and his vehicle's rear window damaged during an incident which has prompted a police investigation. Officers have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

The assault is alleged to have taken place on the evening of Saturday, January 18 in Hinckley town centre. Police say a group of two men and two women had been dropped off in Regent Street in the town before the driver was assaulted and the window was broken.

The driver did not suffer any injuries, police said. Issuing an appeal today (Monday, February 24) Leicestershire Police said one man has already been interviewed in connection with the assault.

Investigations are ongoing and police have issued a CCTV image of a man they wish to trace in connection with the incident. A force spokesperson said: "The incident happened at around 8.30pm on 18 January after the driver – a man in his 30s – dropped off a group of two men and two women. He was punched and the rear windscreen of the taxi was also damaged during the incident.

"He did not suffer any injuries. As part of the ongoing investigation, a 20-year-old man has been interviewed by officers."

Investigating officer Pc Nathan Bastock said the man in the CCTV image could have useful information and appealed for him to get in touch, or anyone who knew his identity. To report information call 101 or visit the Leicestershire Police website, quoting reference 25*35012.
