how many of you will keep a straight face?

picture this.
loads of cabs parked up at brighton station rank today.
a few of the drivers got out to go to the loo or get a cuppa.
its normal for drivers to keep their keys in the cars so other can move them down the rank.
no chamnce of any getting nicked because the rank is so tight.
so a few cars move from the front leaving a gap to the driver less ones.
one of the drivers go to move one of the cabs down.
the car an auto gets stuck in drive and smashes in to another one that smashes into another two more. #-o

the terminator is not a popular driver. :-#

You lot must be pretty trusting down there.

A lot of the drivers here lock up their cars on the rank, even if it's just to stand beside the car in front to talk to the driver.

At the station when a driver goes to the lavvy the other drivers generally just leave the car until he gets back, but I've know some to take the opportunity to jump the queue.

So if the cars in Brighton are so tight on the rank to prevent someone stealing them, how do the cars doing phone runs get out?

No problem with that here since some drivers leave almost a car length between them and the car in front

Christ!

The keys shouldnt have been left in it by law. so at the end of the day the other driver wouldnt have been able to drive it if it was locked.
The "private land" wont work if its open for buisness.
god only knows how they'll go on

That's a rum do. Much damage done? I hope the owner of the vehicle that caused the accident is insured for any driver? lol

Did the owner stand the damage or did the he ask the driver of his vehicle to pay up? I suppose technically speaking the person was driving without insurance and the owner aided and abetted him by allowing him to drive his vehicle?

I hope none of the drivers in the other vehicles sustained whiplash injuries lol.

I suppose this serves as a reminder not to move vehicles on Taxi ranks unless you are insured to drive them.

Regards

JD

no one was hurt so the police have thought [edited by admin] this and left it to the insurers. surprise surprise.

bit of an update.
there was eight cars involved.
two written off.
three badly damaged including £5,000 for the tx.
two just with scratches.
the car that started all the damaged could be the third write off.
not only loads of damage.
but the throttle was stuck and whilst it had the TX up against the wall. its engine blew. #-o

If I didn't know you better I'd say you were exaggerating a bit Mr Gull.

But since I don't know you at all I think you are

Sounds a bit like the guy who's throttle stuck on his BMW and he was travelling at over a ton for miles and eventually crashed into a roundabout :?

Cab office wrecked after driver loses control of his car

A LEEDS private hire office was demolished after a driver lost control of his BMW car and smashed into the wall.

Staff and customers at Beeston Line private hire firm on Dewsbury Road, south Leeds watched in horror as the high-performance vehicle crashed into the building shortly before 9.30am yesterday.

The driver, who is believed to have had two female passengers, is said to have claimed a dog ran out in front of him, causing him to swerve into the building.

Staff said one employee and one passenger were taken to hospital with what are thought to be minor injuries following the smash.

Other members of staff were said to be in shock.

Ash Khan, 35, who runs the business along with his brother said: "I think the driver has said something ran out in front of him and he swerved and hit the side of the building.

"Luckily, all the drivers were out and about but one of the customers was leaning over the counter shortly before the car hit and if he hadn't leaned back when he did, I think he could have been seriously hurt.

"There are 30-plus drivers working here whose livelihoods are going to be affected because we are going to have to stop operating until we can sort our another location."

Firefighters who attended the scene said they had to rescue two members of staff from the building who were left trapped for a short time by damage to one of the interior doors.

Narinder Sekhon is the owner of the buildings on the short parade of shops where Beeston Line stands.

He said: "There are a few schools of thought at the moment as to what caused the accident but I am going to have to make sure the adjoining buildings haven't had any structural damage as well. If anyone had been any closer to the wall when the car hit, I think there may well have been a fatality."

West Yorkshire Police were today still investigating the accident.
