I’ve been away on holiday for some time. I note here that both Sussex and Edders 23 went 18 days (and counting…) without moaning about something and nothing. Has anyone contacted Guinness book of records?

try going to eastbourne

A man was left outraged when he had to fork up £83.50 for just a single hour of parking after a firm fined him for not buying a ticket, despite their machine being out of order.

Lenny Samms had parked up at his local Iceland when he noticed the machine was not working.

The 63-year-old from Eastbourne shrugged off, as he saw other cars which had not paid either.

Samms was only away from his car for an hour, which normally costs £1.50, so with an £85 charge, he essentially paid £83.50 more than he should have had to.

Ordering off Amazon, item doesn’t turn up, upon further investigation turns out it’s been ‘delivered’ by Evri, second time in two weeks that my parcel has gone missing with these. Why don’t they just tell you on ordering that it’s going be them ???
I stopped ordering with Parker’s (for my bedding plants) years ago as our local Evri (or Hermes as they were) is a cowboy. He does Evri in the morning and pretends to be a plumber in the afternoons. #-o

Other drivers doing work for crazy low prices. #-o

Maybe they think garages will service and repair their vehicles for nothing.

Councils that dig up the center of the city at the height of the tourist season.

Who would have thought that city planners and associated civil servants have no business acumen? ](*,)

Ah, and here we are back again......

ref your comments on school runs, after watching local drivers and bases chip lower prices for the 2 "local" airports (EMA and BHX), I simply stopped even answering calls from Joe Le Public, it wasnt worth doing 3am airports, bank holidays, waiting for late flights or luggage to show up when punters were ringing 6 or more for prices, I concentrated on school runs and for 8 years had various runs from the one town >that way from us to a school <that way from us with us in the middle
Mileage was about the same as a BHX.....

When i was a hackney i asked one "local" (ahem) driver who was always on the rank waiting (watching netflix) why he, or they, didnt try for school contracts the reply was....."I might get a BHX job"

So while "THEY" were battering cash/airport jobs downward (if they got any) and I had 4 years of bookings (191 days, 2 jobs a day) at my tendered price, if kids didnt go anytime we got paid, we got paid in lockdown and got an annual inflation rise on our payments

Only downside was only being able to take holidays in school holiday time

Ive just looked at UBER to EMA, they are quoting less than I was charging 7 years ago, my wife went to her sons yesterday by UBER for £21, I was charging £25 7 years ago to the same town

Is this trade mad?
