Despite what the headline here might suggest, it looks like he's just been suspended by the firm, and not his badge.

And note the stuff from the firm, which tries to shift the blame to the council, effectively, and emphasises that he's self-employed and has only recently been licensed :-o

A Wiltshire taxi driver has been suspended after allegedly pestering young girl for a kiss.

An investigation has been launched following the incident in Calne on Sunday (27 July).

The male private hire driver, who was working for the firm Swoop, collected the 17-year-old from Swindon – before arriving at her destination around 15 miles away.

However, on their arrival in Calne, it’s claimed the man “turned to the back seat and pestered her for a kiss”.

Swoop confirmed that they have received a complaint about the driver’s conduct and are cooperating with the authorities in relation to the matter.

In a statement, a spokesperson said: “A self-employed taxi driver, who started working with us on the 4th of July 2025, has been the subject of a complaint that we received by email yesterday, from the parent of a young female.

“Whilst a full investigation is carried out, we have also been communicating with the parent of the female who has brought these allegations, and cooperating with the police in their enquires, plus we will be assisting Swindon Borough Council, who recently licenced the individual.

“The driver in question has been suspended from receiving any further bookings until such a time when, both the Police and Swindon Borough Council have decided the appropriate course of action – it is hoped that dashcam or CCTV footage might have captured the alleged event, thus assisting everyone, and speeding the correct outcome of this matter.”

Defo a case of an operator trying to say 'not me gov'.

They should have just said we have received a complaint, and the council and police are now dealing with it.
