Only surprise about this is that it took them so long:

But, surprise, surprise, even police and press got the age of the girl wrong originally. It seemed obvious that it was the younger one brandishing the weapons, and she didn't look 14 :-|

Statement from Police Scotland following incident in Dundee

https://www.scotland.police.uk/what-s-h ... in-dundee/

Chief Superintendent Nicola Russell said: "We are aware of misinformation being shared on social media in relation to an incident where a Bulgarian couple were approached by youths in St Ann Lane, Dundee, on Saturday, 23 August 2025.

"A 12-year-old girl has been charged with being in possession of offensive weapons. She will be referred to the relevant authorities and our enquiries are ongoing.

"We would like to thank the local community for their help with our investigation and would urge the public not to share misinformation about this incident or speculate on the circumstances."

I mean, there's the likes of this floating about on Twitter and elsewhere. Sounds very plausible (COPFS is the Scottish equivalent of the CPS etc), but problem is it's complete and utter BS.

There's been no petition, no person 'of migrant background' charged, and utterly zero official debate in Scotland about any of it, apart from the stuff from Police Scotland about misinformation etc.

And nothing to suggest the girl has been 'released on bail' etc. I suspect she's been taken into care, and will be there for some time :-|

Twitter BSer wrote:
“As of August 25, 2025, the case involving the 14-year-old girl in Dundee, Scotland, who was arrested for wielding a knife and axe in self-defense, has seen significant developments. The girl, initially charged with possession of an offensive weapon, has been released on bail pending further investigation.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) has stated that the case is under review, with considerations for the circumstances of self-defense being taken into account

Public and legal pressure has mounted, with several petitions circulating online demanding the charges be dropped, garnering over 150,000 signatures. The alleged attacker, a 28-year-old man of migrant background, has been charged with attempted sexual assault and is currently in custody.

The case has reignited debates on self-defense laws, youth protection, and immigration policies in Scotland, with the Scottish Government announcing a review of self-defense legislation expected to conclude by early 2026. The incident continues to be a focal point in discussions on community safety and the role of minors in self-defense scenarios.”

And that last paragraph in particular reminds me of all those AI generated articles that were knocking around for a while about the trade, and which I posted on here quite a few times. Luckily they seemed to largely disappear, but I suspect the likes of that above will become a lot more common in the future.

I mean, I think the above was generated by Grok, which is Elon Musk's baby, and then spread by others. And even the real Elon Musk is spouting utter nonsense about this.

It's probably no coincidence that the incident took place right beside where the taxi driver was pushed down the slope to his death. And I'd guess the contents of that video at the weekend depict a scenario a bit closer to that than the likes of the stuff being put out by Elon Musk, Tommy Robinson and even UK-based lawyers and journalists and the like, not to mention thousands of accounts based in Europe and the US ](*,)

I've seen some Olympic-level mental gymnastics to make this story fit an agenda. The AI Braveheart-esque memes are just bizarre.

Never seen anything like it, Mr XH558. But maybe because I've driven and walked past that point maybe thousands of times, and probably spent hundreds of hours sitting on the rank a hundred yards or so away on Lochee High Street (and drove down it often enough late on Saturday looking for fares - not something I particularly relished, but needs must etc.) And I lived not that far away from there for 25 years, in an environment of violence and drugs etc.

So that probably colours how I viewed the video, and see something completely and utterly different to far-right grifters thousands of miles away (and I though I was right wing :-o).

Anyway, here's a corrective from Stephen Daisley in the Scottish Daily Mail - he's certainly not really on the left, and he's no fan of Holyrood and, Nicola and Humza types, and writes for the right wing Spectator. And he knows Scottish politics inside out. This is understandably a bit broad brush (it's the mainstream media, not the Twitter grifters and engagement farmers and attention-seekers, so obviously has to consider that it's a live criminal investigation involving a 12-year-old), but seems to be on of those occasions when many on the right have to sound like they're on the left :-s

(Although one obvious error below is that the girl is 12, and not 14-years-old as originally claimed. So she's NOT a teenager.

Hi-res versions linked below if anyone can't read the versions displayed here. Assuming anyone actually reads some of this stuff I post  )

She will be out and about in the community, and even if convicted of the knife matters will not go to custody/care.

Unless of course she is already in local council care.

Although I've been totally engrossed by this whole thing over the past few days, decided not to post anything more about it on here, since it's probably of limited interest to the average reader.

However, someone looks like they'll be making a shedload of money out of it all - unlike the Delta/Veezu/Sefton VAT fundraiser, this one looks like it could pass £100k, and apparently the proceeds are destined for the girl and her family :-o

But I'd guess it's just a total scam - and, if Police Scotland and the Dundee press etc are to be believed, the narrative describing it all is just a pack of lies.

I actually emailed the Courier about it earlier, since it's quite an obscure thing in the USA, and done via an anonymous Twitter account.

https://www.givesendgo.com/lolaandruby

This is the Twitter account it was promoted by - this has been viewed 8 million times, apparently. And it was retweeted by Tommy Robinson, which was why I came across it in the first place. (Not that I'm a fan of Robinson, but, you know... :-| )

This is completely and utterly crazy. I'd guess this is one of the girls there, and the narrative sounds quite compelling, and consistent with what I know about the area. But, I mean, take a look

https://x.com/Anc_Aesthetics/status/1961497524193145080

But the big cock up is at around 5 minutes in the second video. If the younger girl was taken to the hospital, it would have been to Ninewells, a couple of miles away. Yet when the girl in the video was coming home from there in a taxi, she came across the guy who was doing the filming, and allegedly assaulted Lola. And he was kicking off in another police van and needed a spit hood etc. And the van he was in was also at the hospital a couple of miles from the incident, and the other van Lola was in was vibrating because of this guy kicking off in the other van. While the girl in the video was in a taxi somewhere :-s

I should really leave this alone, but, you know...

So much complete and utter nonsense out there, but this is the latest rubbish I came across by accident, by ex-Sun journo and GB News presenter Dan Wootton (I used to really like Dan, but since he got his own alternative media sort of thing I've increasingly gone off him, and this Dundee thing has just put the tin lid on it).

Anyway, remember make-up girl with the twenty minutes of TikTok videos, who was the one with the two sisters in Dundee at the time of the incident, and apparently witnessed it all. Well one of Dan Wooton's latest pieces is about it all, and he selectively shows a very small part of the 14-year-old makeup girl's TikTok testimony about it all.

Not much detail, and he doesn't go into the nitty gritty, but the same videos and source are being used to promote that crowdfunder in the USA, which is currently at £86k :-o

Anyway, I've watched the TikTok videos so you don't have to, but here's some of the stuff claimed in relation to the crowdfunder via the videos, which smells to be like complete and utter BS.

The crowdfunder says that the young girl simply 'retrieved' the big knife and axe. From where, precisely? It's a busy area of Dundee, and broad daylight. TikTok girl says that the young girl had them concealed on her person somehow, but the other girls didn't know she had them. But they were all together for an hour prior to the incident - I mean, a wee slip of a girl with just t-shirt and jeans on, with those weapons on her person, yet her pals were with her for a whole hour and didn't notice she had them :-s

Makeup girl also said that while the girl with the weapons was in a police van, the Bulgarian guy was in another police van, and spat on police (requiring a spit hood), punched and kicked police, urinated in the van, and kicked the van so hard that the weapons girl in the other van felt the vibration. Yet no charges and nothing to see here, say police :-o

She also claimed in the videos (which remember form the basis of the £86k crowdfunder claim) that she, the weapons girl's sister, and their mother went up to hospital for treatment after the Bulgarian had supposedly battered her. And she had 'severe concussion', a tennis ball-sized lump on the back of her head, and numerous bruises. But they can't provide photographic evidence because the lump was hidden by her hair

So, I mean, the one supposedly kicked and punched on the ground is the taller girl with the phone dancing about in the viral video as her sister brandishes the weapons. And that's just after she's been beaten to a state of 'severe concussion' by being kicked and punched on the head, apparently. I mean, google the symptoms of severe concussion.

So the hospital they went to could only have been Ninewells. Which is about a three mile drive from Lochee through Dundee (to A&E at least). (Even US 'frat' students and Bullingdon Club types in St Andrews have to go to Ninewells 17 miles away if they fall over drunk in the evening and hurt themselves.)

So TikTok girl - who can sit in front of a camera and deliver a 20-minute monologue - and the girl waving the phone about in the viral video, and her mother, all with phones, all went up to Ninewells Hospital three miles away. Yet ZERO photographic or video evidence of that whole episode

I mean, the amount of pish all over the internet, yet not one piece of evidence supporting the likes of the stuff now being portrayed by people like Dan Wootton to his adoring audience.

Here's the Dan Wootton video here, if anyone feels the need. (In total, the Dundee stuff is little more than ten minutes if you skip the promotions etc.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oua5PvbkgNc

Of course, anyone who's been following all this will be aware that the Bulgarian supposedly has a dark side, with some dodgy tatoos and a 'gypsy gangster' image, or something like that.

But look, for example, at the image of him standing beside the car, which is all over the internet, and is captioned 'I'm waiting for you Lady of the Night to get in my super car'.

You can see that soon after this point in the Dan Wootton video:

https://youtu.be/Oua5PvbkgNc?si=gjate3AN2u1Omv5b&t=382

But I know where that is - it's St Andrews, just along from our main rank, and close to the famous Janetta's ice cream shop (where tourists queue at 10pm in the summer) and behind the university's St Mary's Quad and old medical school. And close to the restaurant there where he worked, when if he's 21 now he must have been around 17/18 back then. So the chances of him actually waiting for 'Lady of the Night' in reality is just bollocks in my opinion, and it's apparently not even his car in the photo, surprise, surprise.

So I'd guess all that 'gypysy gangster' stuff being portrayed by everyone from Elon Musk, Tommy Robinson, Dan Wootton and half of America and the UK, is just performative teenage poseur kind of nonsense.

There are also TikTok videos he's posted of himself posing around various parts of Dundee in ludicrously daft suits and poses, in many parts of the city I actually recognise and know well. And the funny thing about them is the absence of people, in normally quite busy areas. That's probably because if he was actually seen posturing around like that in those areas, he'd be laughed off the streets - to me he looks a bit like a fashion model walking around a shanty town

Like I say, it's all probably just teenage posing and posturing :? As indeed I think explains the fear evident in the face and actions of the wee girl with the weapons. She's trying to do the wee hard woman act, and got caught out, and on camera, and it's that on display in the viral video, and not the imminent fear of being raped by marauding immigrant hordes.

But the rest, as they say, is history.

In the interests of balance I should post this. This is the latest from the crowdfunder chap, and seems to confirm that the taller girl was treated for a head injury in Ninewells :-o

This is his latest narrative:

Quote:
Important update from the families of Lola, Ruby and Mayah. This will be part 3 of my reporting on this incident. Finally we have concrete answers and definitive proof of what happened on Aug 23rd.

If you’ve followed my reporting on this incident you’ve gotten a very different story than what was originally told by the Scotland Police, by the migrants in question and by the media.

The claim by the Scotland Police was that CCTV footage which conveniently has now “gone missing”, proved that there were no crimes committed other than the “possession of offensive weapons” charge against Lola Moir.

We now have definitive proof that this is a lie and that the Scotland Police have been engaging in a cover up to protect the migrant and his sister from the crime of assaulting a minor. Attached is a screenshot of the hospital record proving that Ruby Moir sustained a serious head injury (concussion) as a result of the assault by “The Gypsy Gangster” Fatos Ali Dumana and his sister.

If you recall from my previous reporting, we described the vicious assault where the sister of the migrant violently attacked Ruby unprovoked, yanked her to the ground by her hair, then her and her brother “The Gypsy Gangster” proceeded to kick her head in while she lay defenceless on the ground. You’ll also recall that this is what motivated Lola to pull out the Knife and Hatchet to scare off the violent migrants and save her sister’s life.

This evidence also proves that the Daily Mail defamed these girls when it published a fake puff piece article on the violent migrant claiming he is just an innocent “Bulgarian dad”. In the fake article they also published the following lie from the migrant “I didn't hit her, I swear on my life, I have a baby now. I would never hurt someone. would never attack anyone”. We hope that the Daily Mail will do the right thing and publish an immediate retraction.

In addition to the hospital record which unequivocally proves the girls have been telling the truth the whole time. The families also have a recording from the Scotland Police where the police admit that the families’ sequence of events is correct, corroborating their entire story. The Scotland police have promised the families that they will release a statement in the coming days vindicating the families and clearing their names.

We can only hope that this leads to charges filed against the violent migrants and the charges against Lola dropped.

The family wants to thank everyone who donated to the GiveSendGo fundraiser (link below) and they want to thank everyone who has supported them through this ordeal. It means a great deal to them that there are still good people out there who care for them and care about the truth.

I had suspected that the girl had gone to hospital, and a giveaway was maybe that in an article at the weekend Police Scotland had refused to comment on the claim that the girl was treated in hospital. If she hadn't, I'm sure they would have denied it point blank.

And an article in the Courier which gave the Bulgarian's story did admit that there had been some kind of physical altercation between the Bulgarian's sister and the girl.

But, assuming she had gone to hospital, the evidence (or lack therof) suggested to me that the claims re 'severe' concussion and tennis-ball sized lump, and numerous bruises, was a tad embellished. As, indeed, this letter seems to suggest. Of course, it would have suited their case to ask to take the girl to hospital, and police won't refuse that because it's a young girl etc. But the letter below certainly doesn't suggest anything on the scale of that claimed by the TikTok girl, although I'm no clinician :?

Image

And if the crowdfunder is correct then Police Scotland are due to issue a statement in the forthcoming days, which should be interesting. If they have hidden stuff or tried to missrepresent things, then imagine the reaction :-o

Thing could potentially get even worse...

This from the Courier has been in my drafts on here since the weekend - it rambles on a bit, and didn't think anyone on here would be particularly interested.

But this is why I thought there had been some kind of physical contact, and that the girl had been taken to hospital, but it was all a tad embellished in terms of injuries etc. (See highlighted part in particular.)

Of course, this is obviously a puff piece for the Bulgarian, and the Courier could at least have asked him about his tats and his online 'gypsy gangster' image, blah, blah.

And, as the two linked photos below suggest, it's all a bit sugar-coated.

This was published last Friday.

EXCLUSIVE: Bulgarian dad branded ‘monster’ over Dundee ‘knife’ incident speaks out

https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/53 ... dad-video/

https://wpcluster.dctdigital.com/wp-con ... 40x564.jpg

Ali Dumana, 21, spoke to The Courier to give his version of events on the incident that has sparked a global storm.

Bulgarian dad says his life has been shattered since a video of a Dundee street confrontation went viral after being shared by right-wing figures including Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson.

Ali Dumana, 21, says the clip filmed in Lochee last Saturday night has made him a target for online hate on a scale he could never have imagined.

The Courier understands that, having carried out inquiries, including studying CCTV, police have found no evidence to support claims made online against the construction worker.

A 12-year-old girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has been charged in connection with the alleged possession of a knife and an axe.

Speaking at his home, with his wife Fetka Fatosh, 19, and eight-month-old son Kostadin beside him, Mr Dumana said the abuse has left him in fear of leaving the house.

“I know I’m innocent. I just want them to stop,” he said.

‘Offensive things’

In an interview with The Courier, Mr Dumana set out his version of last Saturday’s events.

He also explained why he recorded a video of the incident, which has gone viral across the globe since being uploaded online.

Mr Dumana moved to the UK from Bulgaria in 2020.

Although he speaks good English, his interview with The Courier was carried out in his native tongue and then translated by our journalist, who speaks both languages fluently.

He said: “At about 7pm on Saturday, I was going to the shop when four girls passed by and started shouting offensive things at me.

“I tried to ignore them and carried on my way, but they continued.

“I couldn’t quite get everything that they were saying as they were talking very fast, but it was nothing nice.

“So I stopped and went back simply to ask what their problem with me is and why they came bothering me.

https://wpcluster.dctdigital.com/wp-con ... scaled.jpg

“That was the moment one of them picked up her phone and started telling someone – presumably the police – that a grown man is following them and asking them for sexual things.

“I started recording it all to have proof – I was doing nothing of the sort and she was lying, and I wanted that on the record.

“At the same time, the other girl started making such a scene that would put Hollywood to shame, shouting at me, ‘Why are you following us? We are little’.

“I once again repeated I was doing no such thing, it was them who stopped me to cause a problem.

“Suddenly, two of the girls started talking among themselves, giving the impression that they were planning to take a swing at me.”

‘Why I recorded Dundee incident video’

Mr Dumana says at this point, there was a physical confrontation between one of the girls and his sister, which led to him pushing one of the youngsters away.

“I’ve told all of this to the police,” he said.

“I did this for our safety, I had to do something – and the officers agreed with that.”

Mr Dumana has faced questions online about why he filmed the girls.

He said: “I had a witness from the block across the road who saw all of this and came to defend us, trying to get them away from us.

“That’s when I recorded the video with the knives and all of them shouting at me not to touch them and leave them alone.

“I figured she would throw away the knives or hide them, and I needed that proof that she had them, that I wasn’t lying, that I hadn’t done anything.

“Shortly after, when the girl with the weapons had walked off further away, the police arrived.

“The officers put the handcuffs on her, and then began the big search for the weapons.

“They arrested her and then came to me to quiz me about what happened.

“They checked CCTV from Farmfoods and spoke to the eyewitness while I showed them the video and explained the whole situation.

“They said I would need to go to the station to give a statement but insisted that I wasn’t arrested because I hadn’t done anything wrong.

“I genuinely have no clue how this whole thing came about, why they approached me in the first place and why they started shouting nasty things at me. I still don’t know.”

‘My worst enemy’

Mr Dumana says he sent the video he took of the girl allegedly brandishing the weapons to a local social media site, in a bid to defend himself after the mum of one of the girls had posted online about the incident.

Within hours, the clip was being shared across the world.

He said: “It just so turned out that, instead (of clearing my name), the video became my worst enemy.

“I never expected this social media explosion to happen.”

The video has been seen by millions of people online.

One post featuring the video has had more than 24 million views on X, the social media site owned by Musk, and a further eight million on a post from English Defence League (EDL) co-founder Robinson.

As well as sharing the narrative about Ali’s alleged behaviour towards the girls, both men have referred to his supposed ethnicity and immigration status.

This narrative was further fuelled by a Facebook post from Dundee mum Abbie Sommer, which included photos of Mr Dumana and his sister and serious allegations against them both.

Ms Sommer’s post also said that “these people conveniently can’t speak English any more” when police tried to talk to them.

That post was also shared by Robinson, among others.

Both police and Dundee’s council leaders have since hit out at the spread of misinformation surrounding the case.

He told us: “People can say whatever they want, but I know I’m innocent.

“I was just a normal person, who had got home from work and decided to go to the shop.

“But now thinking about it, God perhaps had a plan.

“If (the girl) hadn’t stopped me, she could have done something way worse and actually hurt someone, which gladly didn’t happen.

“The thing is, I understand why people reacted that way.

“The situation seems so real with all the screams and everything they are saying, and I get why people got fooled and started to attack me.

“I understand how they would have been deceived by all that, but they don’t know the truth.

“It’s come to a point where people are now sharing my photos online, sending me messages and whatnot, just to seek some sort of popularity, I suppose, when none of what they are saying is actually true.

“I haven’t done anything wrong, but I’m constantly being berated on social media – I have no words for it.

“I keep getting messages and emails from all sorts of people from everywhere – America, Wales, the UK.

“And they are all saying, ‘F***ing monster, leave alone our kids’.

“I haven’t done anything to their kids – it’s these kids that are walking about with weapons, thinking they are some sort of gangsters.

“I just want them to stop.”

‘Always expecting someone to attack me’

On Thursday, while Courier journalist Ellidh Aitken was speaking to his relatives at his front door, a neighbour confronted them, saying he felt “terrified” to be living near the family.

This prompted police to attend the block of flats.

Mr Dumana said: “I walk around with a cap and a hoodie to hide when I’m out and about now, as I’m always expecting someone to attack me or start taking photos of me on the street.

“I live in a free country but I don’t feel free at the moment – and it’s all because random people keep spreading mistruths about me.

“I can’t even go to work or to the shop in peace.”

Mr Dumana, who previously lived and worked in St Andrews, says he has felt welcomed in Scotland until this incident.

“My time there [in St Andrews] was just a dream,” he said.

“It was such a lovely place that taught me so much.

“I was so young then. I met loads of friends, got a good job and just learned how to be a decent person.

“I grew up there essentially, and I’ve never had any issues with anyone – it was just a friendly place.

“Excluding this latest incident, I’ve never had any issues before.

“I find Scottish people to be so kind and polite, always greeting me when passing by and always ready to help out.

“And what happened hasn’t changed this for me.

“I’ve spent five years building a life here and I wouldn’t throw it away just because someone decided to spread lies about me.

“And that’s now resulted in my wife getting verbally attacked by someone who believed everything he saw online, too.

“All I want to say to people is that they shouldn’t jump to conclusions without knowing the whole story.

“Don’t trust everything you see online.

“They can say whatever they want, but the truth is only one – I’m innocent.”

Of course, even taking into account the Bulgarian's admission that there was some sort of 'physical confrontation' between them, the crowdfunder's case is hardly proved in terms of the scale and severity of the injuries claimed, and that they were actually inflicted by the Bulgarian rather than his sister.

My best guess for days now is that there was some kind of reasonably minor ruck (nothing out of the ordinary in the likes of Lochee), and the end result was that the 12-year-old pulled out the axe and knife, and the rest is history. Until, of course, the future :-o

But that the injuries were relatively minor, the reaction of the girls performative, and when police arrived there was no concrete evidence apart from the video of the girl waving the axe and knife around.

And they knew the girls' history, but nothing much about the Bulgarian. Thus the girl is charged, but the Bulgarian isn't.

And, normally, that would be the end of it, at least in terms of global affairs. But that's precisely when that phrase 'went viral' comes in as regards social media etc.

But what exactly triggered it all is unclear - he claims they came up to him on the street and started haranguing him about being a foreigner, or whatever.

While the worse TikTok girl is claiming is that the Bulgarian called the girl 'sexy', and it all escalated from there.

So even if the TikTok girl is to be believed (that's the 14-year-old going on 24 :-o ) it's hardly marauding rapist invader foreigner kind of stuff :-|

Not job, but this was in the Courier today.

But I wonder where the high-rise/multi-story block where this took place was seen by tens of millions of people all over the world recently? :-o

(See last image at the bottom of this post.)

This is where the scrote who murdered the taxi driver lived once-upon-a-time (I think), and also the address given for the man charged with the murder of the black woman a few weeks ago :-|

But because it's white-on-white violence, I doubt we'll be hearing anything from Elon Musk or Tommy Robinson about it [-(

(I suppose it's conceivable that the girls in the recent video and/or the Bulgarian and his wife also live at this address, but I'm not sure. It does seem that they all lived not a million miles away, though :? )

999 call handler overheard distressing 40-minute assault at Dundee flat

Ross Ramsay, Jane Gellatly and Candice Henderson admitted their role in the violent incident at Adamson Court in the early hours of September 20 2024

A 999 call handler overheard a woman being brutally assaulted at a Dundee flat for over 40 minutes while police made frantic efforts to trace the phone.

The distressed victim was beaten by two women on the 12th storey of a Lochee tower block, while a man repeatedly shouted at her, demanding money.

During a lull in the attack, the woman managed to grab one of her attacker’s phones and dialled 999.

She left the line open and hid the mobile under a bed.

When the attack resumed, it was overheard by the call handler.

And it was another 44 minutes before the three attackers realised they were being listened to.

Jane Gellatly, 50, and Candice Henderson, 41, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court and admitted assaulting their victim at a flat in Adamson Court, Dundee, threatening her with violence and repeatedly punching her to the head to her injury.

Ross Ramsay, 43, pled guilty to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour by repeatedly shouting, swearing, making derogatory remarks and demanding money.

Crack cocaine sale

Prosecutor Lee-Anne Barclay said the assault happened at Ramsay and Henderson’s flat in the early hours of September 20 last year.

All three accused and their victim are known to each other through the local drug scene, she said.

“At about 1.30am, the complainer attended at the flat to buy crack cocaine.

“She was let into the property by Ms Henderson.”

Once inside, she was followed into the bedroom by Henderson and Ramsay.

Ramsay asked her where his money was, but the woman said she didn’t know what he was talking about.

“Mr Ramsay continually demanded money and threatened her,” Ms Barclay said.

“He then stated he would phone Jane Gellatly who would come up and deal with her.”

Ramsay made a phone call and Gellatly arrived a short time later.

“Ms Henderson and Ms Gellatly then began assaulting the complainer and demanding to know where the money was,” the fiscal depute said.

“After some time, the assault stopped.

“The complainer sat on the bed and saw Ms Gellatly’s phone next to her.

“She managed to get hold of it and dialled 999, before leaving the line open and sliding the phone under the bed.”
Sounds of distress

Henderson and Gellatly resumed with the punching, while Ramsay continued to demand money.

“She was punched to the head repeatedly and called names, such as a thief and a rat,” said Ms Barclay.

“This continued for approximately 40 minutes before Mr Ramsay eventually found the phone and discovered the line was open to police.

“All parties then left the flat.”

The fiscal depute said: “No person had spoken directly to the call handler, but voices of two females and a male could be heard as well as the sound of a distressed female.

“Demands of money were heard, as was the sound of someone being struck.”

The line was left open while police traced the phone’s location.

Officers carried out enquiries around the tower block and eventually all three attackers were traced in a neighbouring flat.

The woman was also there, distressed and crying.

“She said they had accused her of stealing money,” said Ms Barclay. “She appeared to have bruising and swelling to her face and ear.”

She was taken by ambulance to Ninewells.

Sheriff Jennifer Bain KC deferred sentence for background reports.

Ramsay, who has been on remand for the equivalent of a two-year sentence, was released on bail.

This one looks like it'll run and run. I wonder who this pair might be :-o

(This is just the relevant statement from police, and not full piece.)

As the 12-year-old can't be named, those charged, if not named, could be relatives.
