This reeks of advertorial and PR/marketing, and normally you'd guess that it's maybe paid for for inclusion in the local press.

But this one's a bit different, for obvious reasons. So as well as the £750 grant for who-knows-what, it's a good marketing thing involving the business, the press AND the council here :-o

May Premium Travel, run by Chris May, provides transfer services specialising in door-to-door travel to major UK airports and events.

The company, based in Broughton, was awarded the Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council.

Chris May said: "May Premium Travel is all about making journeys stress-free for our clients.

"We're proud to serve the Test Valley community with a reliable, comfortable service that includes complimentary WiFi, bottled water and snacks.

"The support from Test Valley Borough Council has helped us grow and continue enhancing what we offer.

"The Business Incentive Grant will help the company expand its reach and invest in new ways to improve the customer experience."

Mid Test Councillor Stewart MacDonald said: "It’s fantastic to see a local business like May Premium Travel thriving.

"The Business Incentive Grant is designed to help new enterprises get off the ground, and Chris’s dedication to quality and service is a great example of what we want to support in Test Valley."

The Business Incentive Grant is set up to help new businesses in the Test Valley area achieve their goals and contribute to the local economy.

Applications for the grant must be made within eight weeks of trading, with the money awarded once the business has been operational for a minimum of six months.

For more information on the Business Incentive Grant and other business support schemes, visit the Test Valley Borough Council website.

May Premium Travel has quickly become a favourite among residents, business travellers, and international visitors due to its focus on comfort, punctuality, and professionalism.

The transfer service is known for offering high-quality private hire journeys.

Looks like a new-start one-man-band last year, and bought a nice motor to offer a kind of chauffeur-style service, although it's maybe pitched slightly below that. (Of course, lots of similar scenarios around throughout the country.)

No shortage of info and detail on his website, and although I didn't read it all, he's married to Gemma, and proud parents to four cats :-o

So he's got a 19-plate Superb estate with the top-end Laurin & Klement spec, which as I recall it places a price premium of several thousands on a new vehicle - not many of them around 8)

More specific to the trade and licensing, though, he's even got a photo of his plate on the 'Car' page, and states that he's been granted the plate display exemption for executive services etc :-o

Although the photo on his website shows the car with the plate, although it looks like some kind of plastic bracket rather than mounting the plate directly onto the car.

So it all looks a bit more high-end than the press photo at the top of this page suggests [-(

so he's splashed the cash and expects the airport work to come rolling in

I wish him well but I hope he did his research and business plans before he spent all that money (or more likely signed up to a big lease)

What exactly is a premium service?

I would hope even standard service includes getting there on time with a car that doesn't stink of last night's kebab.
