Fife Council approve taxi licence for driver caught without insurance

Driving a private car without insurance resulted in a taxi driver appearing before Fife Council’s Regulation and Licensing Committee.

Nader Mohammad Al Hraki had to explain his actions after applying to the local authority to renew his taxi licence.

Solicitor and council legal team manager, Steven Paterson, explained: “In this case, the committee are asked to note that the applicant’s driving record disclosed a road traffic offence on December 1, 2023 which involved in offence and conviction of driving without insurance from Dundee Sheriff Court.”

The court appearance had resulted in a fine and six points being added to the driver’s licence.

At their meeting on Tuesday, the committee agreed to grant the application with a warning and a requirement to attend the council’s taxi driver training course.

I assume there were no points on his license before the 6 added ?
