...but the other name is a bit unusual, and even with conventional names spellings on Facebook page comments can often be a bit, err, odd :-o

But I wonder if this could be him?

This is from the Glasgow area, one year ago, but the ages and behaviour are bang on as regards the other night:

Teenager avoids jail after Bishopton supermarket and railway station flashpoints

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scot ... s-27323551

The young man had a bust-up with a supermarket worker earlier in the day where he spat in a woman's face.

[...]Out-of-control Malachi Dixon got into an argument with staff at Sainsbury’s in Bishopton’s Dalgety Drive on July 23 last year. When tempers flared, the 18-year-old spat at the female staff member before fleeing the scene.

When cops caught up with Dixon at Bishopton railway station, he then turned abusive towards them, making vile threats that he would stab them and their families.[...]

..and there's also this from a 2022, which suggests he has links to the Dundee area. The later piece above says he had moved to England, but he seems the type who might be quite, er, mobile :?

Police search for missing teenager believed to be in Dundee

https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/du ... -teenager/

Police are searching for a missing Bishopton teenager who is believed to be in the Dundee area.

Malachi Dixon, 16, was last seen at 1.30pm on Thursday at West Cottage in Bishopton.

Police believe he has since made his way to the Dundee area.

He is described as 5ft 2in tall, of Asian appearance, slim build, with short dark hair.[...]

This is the photo here, and he'd be a couple of years older now.

But quite a distinctive appearance for someone travelling from central Dundee to Fintry or Mill o' Mains, or wherever.

But neither of them fit the narrative of what I was expecting when the case was first publicised - I mean, they're both 19 (the PHTM reports initially said both were in their twenties) and the one narrating doesn't' sound Dundonian in the slightest, and in fact sounds quite well spoken (which was also something I noticed about the Lochee axe teenagers :-s ).

So this could well be the one holding the camera. On the other hand, I could be talking complete nonsense

Seems like they'd clocked someone else in central Dundee shorty before getting into the taxi, with the latter incident happening a couple of miles to the north, and about half a mile before the northern edge of the city.

Allegedly :-|

No names yet, but presumably they'll be disclosed after tomorrow's court appearance...

Men, 19, charged over two Dundee ‘assaults and robberies’

https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/53 ... robberies/

One of the incidents involved an alleged attack on a city taxi driver.

Two men have been charged in connection with two alleged assaults and robberies in Dundee.

The pair – both aged 19 – were arrested following incidents on Reform Street and Forfar Road earlier this week.

Police were called to Reform Street around 11.50pm on Monday after a man was reportedly assaulted and robbed.

A short time later, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, a female taxi driver was allegedly assaulted and robbed on Forfar Road.

Police Scotland has confirmed the teenagers are expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Teenagers due in court over alleged Dundee assaults and robberies

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with two assaults and robberies in Dundee.

“Around 11.50pm on Monday, officers attended Reform Street after a man was assaulted and robbed.

“A short time later, a woman in a car was assaulted and robbed in Forfar Road. Emergency services attended and she was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Following inquiries, two men, both aged 19, were arrested and charged in connection with the incidents.

“They are due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday November 6.”

This is the photo of Reform Street used by the Courier - I wonder if they might have hired the taxi from the rank which is just to the right of the Dundee High School building with the pillars at the top of the photo? :-o

That's the rank beside the DC Thomson building - which I call the Courier rank - which has featured on here quite a few times before :-|

And the McDonald's on the street there is a well-known source of trouble, and think I mentioned it in relation to the Lochee axe girl a few months ago and her TikTok videos

That's some rap sheet for someone so young - and very probably a lot more than that that he's gotten away with, and/or hasn't been publicised.

But his age is probably why he wasn't locked up. But if that was him the other night, then surely he'll be locked up for some time this time round. But knowing the way the court system up here works, I wouldn't put money on it :?

It's years since I've bothered with the nitty gritty of all this kind of thing, but isn't it the case that the official view is that your mental faculties are still developing until the age of 25, therefore...

Unless, of course, you want to whop your bits and pieces off to change gender, in which case you're capable of deciding at around 7 or so. I do exaggerate slightly, but I think Dundee-based MSP Maggie Chapman thought you could 'transition' at seven-years-old :x

Anyway, slightly off-topic...

That was published not long before midday yesterday, and I didn't pay enough attention, and assumed that the court appearance was due the day after the press release, thus today (Friday) but in fact the court appearance was yesterday (Thursday) :-s

No sign of any official report on the Police Scotland sites nor on the Courier's website, so presumably there's still been no official disclosure of their names.

It was maybe one of those private hearings, or whatever, and the names aren't being disclosed in the meantime.

Don't know precisely how these thing work, but presumably it's not an age thing because they're 19-years-old.

Don't think Lochee axe girl was ever named officially, but obviously that would have been because she was only 12-years-old :-|

Ah, thanks for that, Mr Dundee Op - I mainly rely on the Courier's website these days, and had assumed any report would be posted there, but maybe not...

And obviously the names floating about on social media were bang on.

Anyway, quite a charge sheet :-o

And the text uses the words alleged/allegedly/allegations a total of 12 times...

So Courier obviously being hyper-senstive about the contempt of court rules, etc, which they seemed a bit miffed about over the Lochee axe girl case - the likes of Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson don't have to bother with such legal niceties

No pleas from teenagers on claims of assault to lone female taxi driver

The Courier & Advertiser (Angus and Dundee) 7 Nov 2025

A female taxi driver was allegedly left severely injured after being attacked and robbed in Dundee by two teenagers.

Court papers allege the woman was threatened with a knife before ending up lying on Forfar Road.

Kaydon Mccoll and Malachi Dixon, both 19, are also alleged to have spat on and robbed a delivery driver outside Taco Bell on the same day. The pair have been remanded in custody in connection with the November 3 allegations.

Mccoll, of Pitkerro Road, was allegedly on five separate bail orders at the time with Dixon, of Byron Street, allegedly subject to an undertaking to appear at court.

The pair were allegedly within a taxi at a layby between Caird Park and Forfar Road when they attacked the driver. They are alleged to have placed their arms around her neck from the rear, applying pressure demanded money.

It is alleged the men said they had a knife and threatened to stab the woman, forcing her to throw herself on to the road in a bid to escape. While lying on the road, she was allegedly kicked repeatedly on the head and body to her severe injury. Both men are said to have made off with a wallet and a money pouch.

They are also accused of assaulting a man outside Taco Bell, on Reform and Street, by pulling a delivery bag, throwing food at him and repeatedly punching him to the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

They allegedly shouted and spat at him, and threw a glass bottle at him before robbing his delivery bag.

Prosecutors allege the offence was aggravated by racial prejudice.

No pleas were offered on behalf of the pair when they appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on petition.

One or two spelling/grammatical errors in the piece, and presumably the word 'and' above isn't required and is an error.

So the one holding the camera's address is given as Byron Street, eh?

Seems to be quite a lot of stuff being going on there in recent years...

And, funnily enough, on the day of the taxi incident, a man was appearing in court accused of a murder in Byron Street :-|

Man in court charged with murder of woman after flat fire

https://news.stv.tv/north/man-in-court- ... -flat-fire

A murder investigation was launched after the body of Natalie Egan was found within a flat following a fire in Dundee.

A man has appeared in court charged with murder after a woman’s body was discovered following a flat fire in Dundee.

Emergency services were called to a flat in the Byron Street area at around 7.25am on Friday morning.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene, and the blaze was extinguished.

The body of Natalie Egan, 37, was found within. Her family have been informed, and they are being provided with support by specially trained officers.

Following a post-mortem examination, the death is being treated as murder.

Callum Miller appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday charged with murder, two charges of theft and theft of a vehicle.

The 26-year-old made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody, to appear in court again within eight days.

For what it's worth, the Courier piece above is now online on the Friday court round-up page.

I think it's precisely the same article as the one above, but 'Reform and Street' has been corrected to Reform Street.

Sounded like a strong west coast accent. With the Lochee axe teenagers you're saying they sounded "well spoken" - you think they might be actors and that was some kind of 'false flag' type event?
