Marika Jedraszak, 29, was taking a taxi home from Lochee to Stobswell when the alleged incident took place on Saturday night.
Speaking to The Courier, Marika said the driver locked her in his taxi for about four minutes and made inappropriate comments and sexual advances towards her.
She wants to share her story to warn other women, and is now considering “driving everywhere”.
The incident has been reported to police, who are investigating.
The taxi company the driver was working for has confirmed he has been suspended.
‘I’ve never felt this unsafe before’Marika said: “Right at the end (of the journey), he locked the door, but I had paid for my taxi before I got onto it.
“He said he would unlock it if I let him into the house and we had sex.
“I said, ‘If you don’t let me out, I’ll start screaming and will call the police and the taxi company’.
“He unlocked (the doors) eventually and he was bumping his gums about something after, but I just focused on getting into the house.
“I’ve been in Dundee for 19 years and I’ve never felt unsafe before.
“I would just like to make people aware to be careful and to maybe have a friend pick them up.”
Marika had been catching up with her sister and decided to get a taxi home.
She alleges that the driver “constantly” made sexual comments during the short journey.
Marika said: “This was a driver I had before, but this time he knew I was living at a different address.
“He started to make crazy comments.”
Marika says when the doors of the taxi were locked, she was “petrified” and “didn’t know what to do”.

She added: “I locked the door as fast as I could.
“I phoned the police straight away because I just didn’t feel safe at all.
“He was hanging around in his taxi for about five to 10 minutes.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.35pm on Saturday, officers received a report concerning the behaviour of a man in Dundee.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
Marika has also complained to the company the driver was working for.
A response from the taxi firm said: “As per the case forwarded by you to us, we are doing our investigation and will let you know in due course.
“As for your information we have suspended the driver until our investigation is finished."
