Complaint made against private hire driver who urinated on street

A private hire driver who urinated on a Glasgow street was filmed by an annoyed resident who made a complaint to the council.

Councillors were shown footage of the incident at today’s licensing and regulatory committee, which occurred in a residential street in the city in September.

Appearing in front of the committee, driver Yasar Arafat apologised for his behaviour and said he tried to shield himself with the car door when relieving himself.

In the complaint the resident said he showed disregard and it raised concerns about “decency”.

Explaining how he was in the area to make a drop off, Arafat said: “I desperately needed to go to the bathroom. I used the driver door to shield myself.”

Pointing out how he has diabetes and needs to go to the toilet often, he offered his “unconditional apologies”. He said he saw a “safe place” to go but “was caught”.

Committee chair councillor Alex Wilson said: “You were urinating in the street, which is a public offence.

“If you have a condition you need to manage that condition to make sure you are not getting caught short.

“You have clearly distressed a member of the public.”

The committee took no action but issued Arafat with a severe warning.

And the Sarwar family are multi-millionaires who made their fortune on the back of cheap labour etc. And Anas Sarwar's da (a former MP for Glasgow) went home to Pakistan and became a state governor there, and lived in a literal palace

(That's a photo from an Indian source, but seems to be the government of the Punjab, where Sarwar senior was the governor...)

But I suspect that's not the product of 'systemic racism' across there, and just, you know, because the vast majority of the population isn't white

But I just felt like sounding off. Or, at least, sounding off a wee bit. Wait till you read the louder version )

The fact that an elected official would prefer a taxi/PH driver pi**ed himself, or sh** himself in his car rather than pull over and discreetly do his business, is an utter disgrace.

I should be saying I hope that idiot never has an illness or condition where he can't control his bladder or bowels, but in his case, I hope he actually gets one.
