A few unusual features about this, apart from the obvious

But it says the fare was £38 for three miles :-s

Maybe there's some important detail missing (maybe a cross-border HC run, or whatever), but as it sounds it's maybe no wonder they refused to pay.

And it says the driver was so traumatised he couldn't work for days, but they were just convicted for a runner? :?

Anyway, lots of Facebook-style photos of the pair posing via the Sun link below.

And this is on quite a few of the national titles' websites :-o

CAB BRAG Revellers who dodged taxi fare caught after sharing police appeal of their faces in brazen social media post

Pair did runner over £38 fare - but will have to cough up more cash in compensation

TWO revellers who dodged a taxi fare were caught when one of them shared a police appeal of their faces in a brazen social media post.

Larisa Sumovskaja, 18, wrote “go like it guys xxx” when the dashcam stills of her and pal Jasmine Orchard were posted online.

The pair had been on a night out in Bournemouth, Dorset, when they hopped in a taxi.

But when the driver dropped them off three miles away, Sumovskaja and Orchard lashed out at him.

They did a did a runner without paying the £38 fare – but were snared thanks to Sumovskaja’s Facebook brag.

She and Orchard, 21, have now been ordered to pay the driver £100 each in compensation after appearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court.

They both pleaded guilty to a charge of making off without payment.

In a victim impact statement, the driver said he has stopped working nights following the ordeal.

As a result, he has suffered a loss income and now suffers from anxiety.

The court heard the cab dash took place in January – two months before Sumovskaja and Orchard carried out a nightclub assault.

In that incident, the pair flew into a rage as they were booted out of the Camel Bar after a night out.

They insulted bar manager Mohammed Saffi about his weight, spat at two security staff and hit them with their swinging handbags.

Sumovskaja and Orchard were convicted of assault and told to do 100 hours of community service.

This is the thread on the original police appeal, which says they wanted to go on to Andover rather than the basic three-mile drop stated in today's piece, which explains the £38 figure. And it seems they kicked off at the money-up-front request.

And also mention of an assault in the original appeal, which would explain the driver's trauma, but no mention of an assault as regards the conviction.

Although, as the piece above makes clear, they do have form for that
