The usual
But reminds me of a slightly embarrassing incident I had at the Edinburgh Airport drop-off barriers the other night
Which I might try to escalate to the media if EDI escalates it in terms of fining me etc, but will wait to see what happens
Taxi drivers fined hundreds at Norwich Station car parkhttps://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/25 ... -car-park/
Images: Submitted/Jack Warren/Norwich Evening NewsCabbies are bewildered after receiving £100 fines for staying in Norwich station car park for up to a day despite only dropping off or picking up punters.Taxi drivers say they are being wrongfully penalised for the length of time they are spending at the site due to a glitch in the camera system.
This is not the first time NCP, the company which manages parking at the site, has come under fire over wrongly issued fines and the firm says it is investigating the latest complaints.
A 'SHOCKING' SYSTEMAli Roodkoo, 44, who regularly drops customers off at the station, said: "I received a letter saying I was at the station for almost three hours and I received a £100 fine.
"I was shocked. I thought I must have parked somewhere wrong.
"My wife called me about it and when I was going home I was prepared to pay for it.

"I then looked at the summary sheets from Uber and the tickets and it was impossible that I was there for three hours.
"Five minutes later, in our taxi driver group chat, more people came forward saying they had the same thing.
"One driver was told he was there for 24 hours.
"He got two tickets.
"Seven of us in total have been fined.
"I presume it is a glitch in the system.”
Mr Roodkoo said there are concerns among the cabbies that the false accusations and threat of a fine could scare more vulnerable drivers.
'WHY WORRY PEOPLE'Faruk Sarac, another driver who was fined, said: "There is a problem with the NCP system and they know this.
"I have got two fines and I am going to complain to trading standards.”

Julie Wilson, another driver, said: "I cannot believe how bad they are.
"It is shocking and they know that the cameras are not working, so why send out a bill.
"Why worry people, especially at this time of year, it is really difficult for people if they do not have the resources to fight it.”

Cabbie Christian Hotiu added: "I have heard some of my colleagues say they have been fined at the station.
"It can be frustrating for us but we have evidence and invoices for all the jobs we do so we can prove things.
"It is a shame because people are working for the money, it is not fair to pay a hundred pounds for nothing.”
DOGGED WITH PROBLEMSThis is not the first time NCP has come under fire for wrongly issuing penalties.
Earlier this year a couple were furious at being handed a court summons after receiving a £170 parking ticket a year earlier.
Jason and Michelle McKnespiey, from Norwich, arrived at Norwich Railway Station on April 18, 2024, as Jason was heading to work in London.
Mr McKnespiey claims his wife was parked no longer than eight minutes at the train station, but a letter received by the couple said they were there for 58 minutes.
At the start of the year, NCP had said it was reviewing every fine given at Norwich Railway Station since last September after outrage from taxi drivers.
Drivers for U-Ride, a company based in Magdalen Street, had claimed they were fearful of entering the railway station car park following a series of charges for picking up and dropping off.
