Pretty routine stuff, and not a lot of detail.

And looks like it's just plate fees here - and they'll presumably be for one-year only in England?

Well, they're certainly hefty for one year. And check out the fees for a temporary four-month plate. Bargain. NOT.

Worcester taxi licence fee changes proposed for 2026

https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/25 ... osed-2026/

Worcester City Council proposes changes to taxi and private hire licence fees.

Set to take effect from April 1, 2026, the new fees will see a range of adjustments.

Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle licences for new applications are proposed at £513 and £476, respectively, with renewals at £439 and £402.

A temporary Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence (four months) will be £384 and temporary Private Hire Vehicle licence will be £356.

A new licence for a fully electric Hackney Carriage or Private Hire Vehicle will be free.

The council invites feedback, which must be submitted in writing to the Licensing Manager by February 5.

A full copy of the details has been deposited at the Guildhall.

Presumably after the first year the EV fees will revert to the same as for standard HCs and PHVs? Still half-a-grand saved though, although the EV bubble has pretty well burst now, I'd guess, and I've never been a fan in the slightest anyway [-(

They are quite hefty increases. [-X

I wonder if it's the lack of locally licensed driver actually licensed with the council, rather than licensing with the basket case council.

Officers need to be paid for, and the fewer drivers paying, the higher the fees.

Who is paying for the free electric license, Councils must charge the full cost of issuing TAXI licenses and do not have discretion to charge less for certain vehicles.
