Yes, I think we've been here before, you clearly don't like the idea of derestriction but on the other hand always tell us that no one wants a HC plate anyway.

In years to come I think scholars will call it the 'jimbo paradox'

I have never, ever, sought to disguise my opposition to de-restriction.

The Halcrow report clearly shows that the PH trade are not interested in changing over to HC. They don't want to buy a WAV. And there can be no accusation of mass filling in of survey forms, can there?

It ain't broke, don't fix it.

So you seem to be confirming the paradox, but I think your intention was to challenge it? :-k

All I can confirm, is there is no enthusiasm amongst PH drivers, for changing over to Hackney. If that is paradoxical to you, then so be it. To me it is proof that the Halcrow survey was fair and accurate, and that the decision to retain the status quo was reasonable and fair minded. Common sense prevails, at least in Lincoln.

What I mean by paradoxical is that you say no one else wants to operate a HC, yet you seem to be getting quite animated about the possibility of people having that opportunity.

If derestriction means all would in effect be hac's, it wouldnt mean all had to have WAV's, If it did then all councils have to have green busses or the Police all have to have WAV's.
The percentage of Disabled wheelchair users has to be no more than 4%ish, so why does every Taxi have to be able to comply with them?
We have 4-5 WAV's and theres always 2 out working.
Someone needs to appeal against the ruling where the majority has to comply with the minority.
A 30% rule would be sufficient IMO.

But if all could be HCs if they wanted, and only WAVs were allowed to be HCs, then HC numbers would probably only be around 30% of the total anyway.
