So last week we learned that Starmer has handed control of Gibralters borders to the Spanish meaning they can stop uk nationals and gibraltarians crossing the border.

Today we discover starmer is permitting the French to site their Nuclear missiles on British soil and we will have no say! So if macron decides to attack russia we get nuked to prevent the French deploying their nuclear weapons

In all fairness, the Spanish have every right to stop people going into Spain, should they wish.

The issue in Gibraltar isn't as bad as being described; they are operating a system that is currently being used at Folkestone and at St Pancras, where French border police do their immigration checks, and at Calais and Paris, where UK police do their immigration checks.

And even at Dublin airport, where the USA immigration police do their checks.

I'm a massive fan of Brexit, but this isn't a step backwards IMO.

Why?

Cos the EU has plush jobs for ex-MPs. look at Kinnock and his whole family....and Blair

Gravy Train

Neil Kinnock was appointed one of the UK's two members of the European Commission, which he served first as Transport Commissioner under President Jacques Santer, in early 1995; marking the end of his 25 years in the House of Commons.[138] This appointment occurred less than a year after the death of his successor John Smith and Tony Blair's subsequent election as party leader.[139]

He was obliged to resign as part of the forced, collective resignation of the Commission in 1999. He was re-appointed to the Commission under new President Romano Prodi. He now became one of the Vice-Presidents of the European Commission, with responsibility for Administrative Reform and the Audit, Linguistics and Logistics Directorates General.[140] His term of office as a Commissioner was due to expire on 30 October 2004, but was delayed owing to the withdrawal of the new Commissioners. During his second Commission term, he oversaw the introduction of new staff regulations for EU officials, which included substantial salary reductions for staff employed after 1 May 2004, reduced pension entitlements for existing employees, and revised employment conditions. These reforms generated significant opposition among EU staff, though the budgetary pressures driving the changes had been mandated by Member States through the Council.

Glenys Elizabeth Kinnock, Baroness Kinnock of Holyhead, Baroness Kinnock FRSA (née Parry; 7 July 1944 – 3 December 2023), was a British politician and teacher who served as Minister of State for Europe from June to October 2009 and Minister of State for Africa and the United Nations from 2009 to 2010. A member of the Labour Party, she was previously a member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Wales, formerly South Wales East, from 1994 to 2009.

Stephen Kinnock worked as a research assistant at the European Parliament before becoming a British Council Development and Training Services executive based in Brussels in 1997. He held various positions with the British Council including director of its St. Petersburg office. Following the Russian authorities' closure of this office,[7][8][9] Kinnock was posted to the British Council in Sierra Leone.[10]
