Having recently been to Cape Verde, I know exactly how mad the islands will be tonight.

And good luck to them, I only wish I were there with them. =D> =D>

I just felt sorry for Curacao. i did finally get to see one on ITV last night ! I have 3 TV's and none of them have the version of ITVX which lets you watch live but downloaded onto my computer, so got to watch it on the smallest screen in the house.

It has to be said though that it's hard to get enthused about it this time round with so many matches and over t0o many weeks

took half the game to warm up but France were looking pretty awesome. That said Senegal should have put away their chances in the first half

Tuchel is clearly attack minded but it left a few gaps at the back. I can't believe just how many saves that Croation goalie pulled off.

Haven't watched any of the World Cup [-(

But all that stuff online about Cape Verde reminded me that I meant to ask, Sussex, what's the attraction of Cape Verde as opposed to the Canaries, say?

I didn't even know where it was until you mentioned it and I Googled it. And I didn't even know it was a country until all that stuff on Twitter recently 8)

perfect holiday destination for people wanting to try food poisoning as a method of suicide  That apart I believe the people and culture there are very different to the rest of Africa and it's very hot so perfect for sun worshippers.

As for the football the Jocks have given themselves a chance of progressing which means I can't take the Jimmy out of them

Done the Canaries a number of times, and Mrs Sx works with folks who have been there a number of times. So basically, the attraction was keeping Mrs Sx happy. 8-[

But the hotels and the weather were bang on. A tad windy, but it helped keep the temperature bearable.

Really friendly locals.

However, it is a case of one and done for me.

Euro Disney in October, Florida in April, and a Greek island next September.

It is far from a modern society, but they are trying to get there, and torisum helps.

There have been a number of doom and gloom articles in the press, and in all fairness, those articles are not made up. Three years ago, a tropical storm took out all their desalination plants, which caused no end of problems.

Those issues have been sorted, and the food, drink, and health standards in the hotels are as good as anywhere.

As for the football, I thought England played well and would have scored many more had the Croatians not had an excellent keeper.

As for questions about our defence, I say don't panic. One goal was a blockbuster shot, and the other was a class pass and a well-taken goal. Neither goal was, in my view, down to a dodgy defence.
