And the lesson is - if you're going to risk using your mobile phone, make sure you don't almost crash into a police vehicle, then abuse the occupants. And also make sure you don't have three illegal tyres at the same time either

West Yorkshire Police said two of their Leeds Special Constables were out on patrol in Harehills, Leeds, when a taxi driver pulled out in front of him while using his mobile phone. The driver spotted the officers and threw his phone onto the floor, before fumbling round to pick it up.
While doing so, he almost crashed into the police car. One of the officers, a Student Officer, approached him and the driver began hurling abuse.
The more experienced officer then approached the driver and booked him for using a mobile phone while driving, driving without due care and attention, driving without being in proper control of a vehicle, and for driving with three illegal tyres.
Now, after being summoned to court, the driver has been banned from driving for three years, and has lost his taxi licence. He was also fined £1,492.
The police said: "One of our experienced Leeds Special Constables was out on patrol with a new Special Constable in Harehills Leeds, when they spotted a taxi driver pulling out in front of them using his mobile phone.
"Upon sight of our officers, the taxi driver threw his mobile on the floor. He then began fumbling around to pick it up, nearly crashing into the police patrol car.
"He was directed to pull over. Our student officer approached him to discuss the offence. The taxi driver began shouting abuse at the student officer. Our experienced officer approached the driver and booked him for using a mobile phone whilst driving, driving without due care and attention, driving without being in proper control of a vehicle and for driving with 3 illegal tyres.
"The driver was summonsed to court where he received a 3 year driving ban, lost his taxi licence and fined £1492."
