So why is the CRB check so expensive?

Where did your £37 go?

Until he resigned yesterday, Rod Aldridge was executive chairman of Capita, the public service contract company, responsible for TV licensing, the London congestion charge, and, the CRB. Rod Aldridge managed to find a spare million to lend to the Labour Party. He gets £834 million in contracts, and Blair gets     a £1,000,000 "Loan"

Dam good question, and I wish I had a dam good answer.

But what I do know is that when I had my first CRB check it cost me £12.

CRB'S in london are a lot more than this, my question is why does it vary in cost accross the UK for what would appear to be the same service :?:

It shouldn't vary. [-X

The £12 was the cost when it first came out.

Now the cost should be £34 for an enhanced check, and £30 for a normal check.
