Any chance of you joinig in the call for for the two t's (Turnbull and Thomson - who called them tw4ts :?: :?: :?: ) to reveal the truth, since you want issues discussed

So when exactly will there be a Turnbull owned and operated taxi on the streets of Edinburgh.

And perhaps more interestingly, why Slapheid is driving a taxi and "hammering the airport" if he owns a PHC, and PHC are the way forward. Could it be true that the rumour that has reached me from the far outreach of the airport that Thomson has lied about having a PHC :?: :?: :?: :?:

I fail to see what relevance having one or multiples of Ph has to do with anything. If the Edinburgh Taxi Fleet won’t expand to meet demand the Ph and bus companies will. Point of fact this is exactly what’s happening.

Nor is there anything illegal about buying and selling taxi licences. The trade representatives of the time lobbied the council to do exactly that.

What’s your problem?

No law against it is there?

The so called trade representatives and plate holders seem more than happy not to meet the customer’s needs.

This is what you want is it not ?

Jim Muldoon (Chairman STF) said “the council should put on more buses”. He also said “the Ph take up our slack”.

I can’t understand what your problem is this is the status quo. You must be very happy?

My only problem is Edinburgh’s licence plate cartel. I am more than happy for anyone to pay the £700 licence fee to expand their business but not the artificially inflated £40,000 plate value.

Let’s see how vested interest groups cope on the in real world when they have to sing for their supper. No more artificially inflated rental charges or plate premiums propping up their little illusions of grandeur.

Can’t wait, how the mighty will squeal when it’s all crashing about their ears.

A dog eat dog world.

When have you ever bothered about customers needs, especially the customer who wanted to get home, but didn't want to pay your price.
Traumatized by your assault on the driver who lowered his price to meet the customers needs.

How much did you get for your "artificially inflated plates" Mr Thomson ?
Or is it one rule for you and f*ck the rest ?

You're arguements don't have any creditability in Edinburgh because the very things you decry, you've done yourself.

You are such an ar** Ross it’s hard to believe but I will indulge you once again.

Firstly, I believe in self value. This means knowing your own self worth and not having it dictated by anyone else. In short you dictate your own value according to the market, your own code, or both. This means a free market. The passenger pays the market price or has the choice to go to one of our competitors. This means the Ph or the local bus company.

The driver I slapped was a taxi driver not a Ph or a bus driver. When this scum bag under cut me for a fiver he not only devalued me but everyone else who drives a taxi. This means he sold us all out for a few shillings. The customer then comes to expect a cheaper taxi. This means a £40 job becomes £35 and so on. Before you know it you are working for nothing. Why you might ask, because the customer looks at you and sees a piece of sh** who sells out his colleague for a few pieces of silver.

My plate came with de-regulation. The incorporation of licence plates was implemented a number of years later. At the time I sold my plate the value was around £20,000. Most drivers did not want to buy and were happy to drive. Nor was their shortage of shifts. I agree there was a plate value and an artificial one at that but none I had anything to do with.

Now Ross let me explain once and for all.

I don’t give a sh** about the plate values. Nor do I give a sh** about the buying and selling of licence plates. I don’t even give a sh** about the Ph or the council bus company expanding and taking all the work.

Now here’s what I do care about. No one, but no one puts a price on my head and tells me what I am worth. This goes for pricks like you or [edited by admin] councillors who slap down cabbies for the non payment of a parking fine. Like they did with Ali T, or should I say speaking out and telling them what he thought of their regulatory meeting.

You see Ross if you are prepared to take it up the ar** then that’s what they expect of us.

You are not the enemy Ross just the mind set you are programmed with.

Sell yourself out by all means but not me or people like me.

Oh and while Ross remarks on his wife's metaphorical earcuffing, thicko Ali can't understand what is meant. Instead, he likens it to the frequent times where his own wife physically punches the crap out of him. But then, him being such a tough guy and the "King of Niddrie" he wouldn't admit to being a "battered husband" would he!!! Oh and don't deny it Ali, I know your neighbours well.

you seem to have went from wannabee ganster come mobster(ie im running a book on who's motor gets damaged when etc)
to someone doing a les dawson impersonation.

Now answer me this Ross.

What’s it like knowing everything in your little world has a value put upon it by someone you were born to serve?

Have you ever said “NO” without feeling compelled to justify yourself first? NO apologies excuses or explanations? The word “NO” Ross, two little letters and a whole fuc*** sentence.

Now think hard about this Ross. The uncomfortable body language the apologetic little smile the look you give seeking someones permission or approval to say “NO”?

You see Ross this is not only you but 99.9% of the so called taxi trade.

All forelock tugging ars*** and all apologising for fu**** breathing.

When has the Taxi trade ever said “NO” to the council? NO, the tariff hike is not acceptable? NO your council kangaroo court is not acceptable? NO, we need different vehicle choice? NO, we will not tolerate the Ph in the greenways? NO, the Ph will have to do the knowledge? NO, we will not allow the Ph or your bus company to take our share of the market?

Starting to grasp the nettle yet Ross? You are a slave to a system that turns you into a little unit of production. Without even asking if you want to be kissed before you get f*****.

Now bend over Ross now it's our turn.

No Mr Thomson, one of your competitors. Its a free market as you keep telling us. On the out of town price list it says, " All prices are negotiable"

No Mr Thomson, whether you think it's right or wrong. you should never lift your hand to anybody. This incident cost you a chance of a plate.

No Mr Thomson, to my knowledge there has always been a waiting list. Around about 200 names. SO you sold on your plate when there where people waiting for a free plate. And when there was a threat of them getting their plates. You protested by being part of a demonstration by taxi drivers .

Well that shows you how stupid he is. Why would anyone who claims to work hard to get his plate, do something that could jeopardize their application for a plate.
Bet you were there egging him on.

You need help Ross, maybe you should give up this forum lark and take a little time off?

Taking things out of context won't make it go away nor will making things up.

from what i can gather this skull fellow, wants to remove quantity restrictions on hackney taxi's in edinburgh ( a good thing in my opinion).

he does not as far as i know want to remove restrictions on the phc ?
who are not restricted anyway, are they?
the phc arent restricted never have been, and cant be under the current legislation.
why dont you lot stop with all this personall crap, as according to the above you dont even understand the arguments.
but you only seem interested in personall attacks on people even stooping as low as threats of violence.
come on you can do better than that, cant you :?:
