Whilst reading March's Private Hire and Courier I was most taken a back when reading a comment from the leader of the enemy Bob Oddy.

He says, when asked for a quote about the high fares charged by the black cabs boys, "the cab fares are excellent value. If they were too dear, there would not be a shortage of cabs."

So have the LTDA joined the 'let's make the KOL easier' brigade, or is it just another case of the LTDA talking rubbish?

Mr GBC, you decide.

Ollie

Its nice to see your still following everything the LTDA do and say.

Is this because your 35'000 drivers have no spiritual leader? Sorry Ollie the doors closed for you to join Londons premier trade organisation, try that Steve Wrong OBE bloke from Harrow, apparantly he's on first name terms with Roy Ellis at the PCO.

They go under the name of the 'LPHCwho' or something like that.

I think their membership must be into double figures by now.

You have to be a firm to be a member, so there membership is never going to be thousands.

But you haven't answered my question have you? [-(

Was Bob telling a porkie to PH&C, or is there a need to increase the number of taxis? :D

Green badge, thier must be 20,000 black cab's in london, and I can tell you one thing, they do not stick together. Red ken does what he like's and you lot never do anything about it.
The LTDA are a toothless group, who are, in my opinion useless!!
WE need to stop the 'them and us attitude'
The most important thing is to work together and get rid of the scum tout's and red ken!! :D

I think your magazine may have misquoted Mr Oddie, or taken his reply out of context.

The press can do these things you know.

Why increase the number of Taxi's? , as you keep telling us your nicking all the work? :^o

Name a profession that does?

25,000 people will never all agree in the same way.

The LTDA in my opinion do more for the Taxi trade than all the other so called unions do together, and as for the one man band that claims to represent your side of the operation, all he seems to do is name drop, but does little else. :?

My £16 a month will continue to go to the premier driver organisation.

Maybe the case, but you would have thought the editor of Call-sign would have asked Bob first before he put it in his mag. :-k
