Let's rewind a bit Geoff, I said to Maurice, in the context of closed and open lists, that I admired how Call Sign wasn't afraid to air their shortcomings in public.

I then wondered which circuit Maurice was with, because I knew he'd disclosed this in the past.

Also, there's a certain double standard with some in the London trade tarring all minicab drivers with the same brush when some of the black cabbies started as minicab drivers. Thus I enquired, in a tongue-in-cheek manner, as to whether Maurice had taken that route.

Maurice didn't have to answer, but he did, if he'd said that he didn't want to reveal his past then that was up to him, but he didn't.

I've revealed quite a lot about myself in the past, but not my identity, Maurice chose to reveal his, and that's his choice.

I said yonks ago that I had a background in accountancy, which is as much detail as Maurice revealed about his background above, so surely we're both happy??

As I've said, I've been a taxi driver about half a dozen years, first as a jockey, then my own car, as I've told you in the past.

Considering the size of London, that's narrows me down as much as Maurice's revelations have narrowed him down, he has revealed his name, and that is his choice.

I want people to be able to air their views, not worry about who is looking over there shoulder, so that's why if people choose to remain anon then they can, and they don't even have to register.

Anyone can reveal as much or as little about themselves as they want, if anyone opens their mouth and reveals something about you, Maurice or anyone else that you don't want made public then just say and it will be deleted ASAP.

Dusty

very pleased about that dusty, there is anonomous on plates that has decided, (as he has got confidential information from me via taxi and private hire forums)

and splattered my location all over the place id like you to remove it.

Andy, you were right to warn me that in certain hands confidential information is lethal!

I don't think I did. Others revealed it for me.

What do you mean Maurice?

You've used the name Claude (the barsteward) before when at the same time you've made your identity plain?

You recently used the pseudonym Joe in an underhand manner (I was going to say serup..... but knew the spelling would be miles out), and were unmasked. That's different, innit??

OK it's been changed Geoff, what I can't understand is that as far as I recall you've never tried to hide your identity or location, and as you know anyone could register for TTFUK, so the forum was effectively public????

For example, on TTFUK you revealed your name and exact location (******* ******) and that was available to all and sundry???

And you repeated the location in the post you're complaining about in your own post (I've changed that as well!!)?????

Claude The Illegitimate, please.

I was referring to this list. I haven't used Joe or any other name.

Why should I be un masked on here? Here I am Claude. Clearly I knew that the old crowd would know who I was. That is why I used the name. No prize's for all those- "you are Maurice I know you na, na, nannanna."

I actually don't mind using my name and will standby what I have written but the point is others don't. It is easy to make statements anonymously.

My position has been made clear others motives and positions have not been made clear.

Just to clear things up about names. I used names on Mick's list simply because I was banned from saying my piece as myself.

OK Maurice, so you're happy enough except regarding the motives of anon posters?

Well I can't speak for everyone, but my motive it's to voice my opinion without having to look over my shoulder all the time, and let others do likewise.

If anyone has any untoward motives (eg defamatory or disruptive postings) then they'll be deleted.

If you don't know who a person is though Dusty how can you question or judge their motives?

What exactly do you believe to be defamatory or disruptive (just so that Warfie knows where the line is  ) as my experience shows that this needs to be identified early to save you from being accused constantly of double standards.

But do you have to question or judge their motives?

If someone has a HC plate, they want to protect it. If someone wishes to get a HC plate from a HC waiting list, then they ain't going to like the grey market in plates.

These are facts, not motives.

mICK,
WE KNOW WHERE YOU DRAW THE LINE AND IN YOUR BOOK TRUTH IS ABUSE!

I f someone on your box says they have paid £30,000 for a premium, and you say premiums are immoral, mick counta that as abuse!

if someone says f*** off to a contributor and leaves in a fit of temper, then clearly all policies change, and contributors have to watch thier step.

Maybe Mick if tony blair follows your code he will be resigning within the next 3 weeks, in protest!

Warfie, or is it biggest, as I have allready stated I expressed concerns privatley, your staus was neither altered nor questioned. Pity that people need to invent members to agree with their statements and that is a problem with a open list, 1 person can be an infanant ammount of members.
