No angle  Or mostly I haven't thought of one yet, just an idle curiosity to find out what everyone is on about.

I can't say i've much of an opinion either way, cars survived for decades without it, I think if you drive to the system as Roadcraft teaches you, their is no real need for ABS.

A useful addition to the new TX3, but as David says, the engine's more important in my book.

A traffic cop tells me ABS gives everyone the chance to brake well in variable conditions and as good as some in most conditions. Driver error is driver error and anything that gives a driver greater control over his vehicle can’t be bad.

I suppose you might consider yourself to be a good driver but in reality you are crap, you just don’t know it?

I've seen some young and old cabbies who couldn't drive for sh**

I'm glad we got that out the way, now how about your views on derestriction?

I'd say a class 1 from Hendon D.S, even from the mid eighties, is worth a lot in anyones book.

Know what I mean.

Having owned and operated for more years than I care to remember and I might add survived it the last time   I can only say that if there is good reason to derestrict then go for it, but a more common sense approach would surely be managed growth.

And before you start ranting and raving  This is my view and I wont be drawn into a slanging match with you or anyone else.

Jack.

Mr Thomson

Here's the latest figure from licensing.

Private hire license's 753

Thats down 35 cars since Febuary.

Thats down 19 cars since May last year.

Now answer me this question.

WHATS HAPPENED TO YOUR THEORY THAT THE PH ARE INCREASING IN NUMBERS EVERY MONTH, NAE YEAR?

I understand this to be the present position in respect of the Turning circle, am I right?

The Council made a decision in terms of the future of the turning circle but the report that was considered by the Council made clear that the changes would be effected by a further report to the Council's Executive with the detailed wording of the new Conditions of Licence.

Regards

JD

Okay then the Ph is not increasing nor are they going to increase. Neither did they double in the 3 years. They aren’t running around in top of the line MPV’s either. There is no seasonal variation. The Hacks are making a fortune. More work than they ever had. City and Central are that busy they're turning work away. Rentals are dirt cheap and plate values have risen in line with profits. There's no shortage of shifts for drivers and everything is rosy in the garden. Oh and ComCabs or should I say Delgro have no interest in the airport with their acquisition of 160 Ph they just spent 650k for a laughs.

Happy now!
